We are still selling our Spring Gun Raffle tickets, and now, you can buy them remotely, online. Just go to our website, www.qfd57.com and click on the donate button. Make sure to include your name and contact information and that it is for gun raffle tickets, and we will fill out the tickets and send you the stubs. Remember, they are $5 each or 5 for $20. This is just another way that we are trying to modify our sales to get more tickets out to people that want them but may not live in our area or cannot get out to get them. We hope to have a decision shortly on having our Ham Shoot......Check back frequently (and buy lots of tickets)

Rescue 57 responded with EMS to a vehicle accident on Rt. 372 at Pumping Station Road in Eden Township at 11:11 pm Wednesday night. Snow is falling, again, and the roadways will become snow covered and slick, again. Please use caution and give the plow trucks room to clear the roadways as the night goes on.

Thank You to Britain Hill for the support you have shown to all of the Solanco emergency service organizations. Like we have been saying for years, our organization is only as good as the support, both in volunteers and monetary contributions.

After most of the members spent most of the day clearing snow, the Company had the annual monthly meeting where we were pleasantly surprised to have Lyla Damiano and family stop by and bring some cupcakes to the members. Lyla was in an accident where QFD members extricated her back in early January. It is not very often that we ever have any follow-up on people we meet in accidents, so it was very nice to see that she is healing and doing well, and we hope she continues to ...get better and back to normal quickly. Just after midnight, Rescue 57 responded to an accident in the 700 block of Little Britain Road in Little Britain Township. Roadways were extremely icy, and the vehicle went on its side and struck and broke a pole. Luckily, there were no injuries. QFD Fire Police were in service until 4 am. At 7:21 am, Rescue and Tanker 57 responded to a vehicle fire in the 1800 block of Kirkwood Pike in Colerain Township. Units arrived with a engine compartment fire in a Jeep. The crew put one line in service and extinguished the fire. QFD Fire Police directed traffic around the scene. *** On a side note, this was the first fire for some of the crew on the Rescue. The line crew had a total of about 6 years experience, but showed that their training and dedication is paying off, getting water on the fire in 45 seconds from the time of arrival. Good job to those guys!! After getting back to station from the vehicle fire, the Company was alerted for a chimney fire on Pumping Station Road in Colerain Township. The owner put the fire pout and did not want any services.

Please use caution if you are traveling on the roadways overnight and tomorrow morning. The roads are very icy and there are a lot of drifts (and even some impassable roadways). Rescue 57 and QFD Fire Police responded to this accident just after midnight on Little Britain Road North just North of Black Road. Fortunately, no one was injured, but a pole was sheared off.
