Reading Hillclimbs

100+ drivers from all over the region took on the sharp turns of Duryea Drive in Reading this weekend in the Pagoda Hillclimb. If you didn’t get to make it out to the race, here are a few photos from editor/photographer Jason Hugg. Enjoy!

After day one. William Sekella from Susquehanna Motorsports leads the GT Lite class by .023 seconds over his co-driver Mike Sacks from Mas Imports. Come out today and watch them battle for the lead!

The announcement we've all been waiting to hear, it is officially on! The Reading Hillclimbs are back for 2021, starting in 6 days with the Pagoda Hillclimb!

It is with a heavy heart that we share the Reading Hillclimbs and the Pennsylvania HillClimb Association lost one of its most dedicated members. Nelson Kase passed away yesterday, October 28th. For as long as I can remember he has been the man bringing and running the timing equipment at all of our events. He was as dedicated as they come and he will be missed. Our deepest condolences go out to his family.

Unfortunately the the City of Reading is not issuing Special Event Permits for at least the rest of this year. This means we will not be able to hold an even on the date in early October as we had hoped. Unfortunately other events in the PHA series have suffered the same fate. We look forward to lots of racing in 2021!

The Duryea Hillclimb scheduled for August has been canceled. We have the weekend of October 3-4 scheduled with the city of Reading to hold a makeup event, assuming we are in a better off situation with COVID-19. As soon as we know more we will publish an update. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

We are sad to announce that BMR has decided to cancel the June 20-21 Pagoda Hillclimb because there just doesn't seem to be any chance that state and local restrictions on event size will be loosened enough to allow it to happen. We're hoping and planning for Duryea. We already have the sanction and insurance from SCCA, and the permit application was sent to City Hall this past week.
