"Loyalhanna Creek", 2013 By: Richard S. McWherter Archival pigment photograph on cotton 24 x 36 inches... "Some assembly required... This image is another work from my dreamscapes series, "Tactual Dreams," a collection of images that appear so tactile people sometimes reach out and touch them. There are multiple layers here, some from my original photograph showing through underneath, some from the painting work that I do using a digital stylus. Deciding what is revealed and what is obscured is part of what makes creating this exciting to me as the artist. The intent is that the work isn't really finished until the viewer "assembles" the pieces in their own mind's eye." (McWherter, 2020)
