On Monday, December 14 at 7:00PM, End Blindness will be holding an award ceremony to celebrate the 13 pioneering scientists (including 3 from UPenn) who are recipients of the Sanford and Sue Greenberg Prize. Use the link below to sign up to receive an invitation. Attendance is free and open to all. https://endblindness2020.com/ The ceremony will feature luminaries such as Art Garfunkel, Margaret Atwood, Al Gore, Michael Bloomberg, Sen. Chris Coons, award-winning jazz artist D...iane Schuur, and art legend Frank Stella, who will unveil a new sculpture in honor of the prize. There will also be a tribute to the late Ruth Bader Ginsberg, a major supporter of End Blindness. We hope you can join us on Monday in celebrating this incredible honor!

On Dec 3, End Blindness 2020 announced the 13 recipients of the Sanford and Susan Greeberg Prize, including three vision scientists from the University of Pennsylvania: Drs. Jean Bennett, Al Maguire, and Gustavo Aguirre. The recipients will be honored in a virtual ceremony on December 14 (open to all, details at www.EndBlindness2020.com), with special guests including Art Garfunkel, Margaret Atwood, and others! Dr. William Beltran, vision scientist at the UPenn School of Veterinary Medicine, has been elected into the National Academy of Medicine (NAM). His research focuses on retinal degeneration, a blinding condition found in both dogs and humans. Congratulations to Dr. Beltran on this incredible honor!
