OUR LAST MEET THE BAND FRIDAY IS HERE! We are finishing strong with the man who makes sure we all sound amazing, meet Karttikeya! Karttikeya began playing the drums in high school and eventually found his way to Berklee College of Music, Boston, where it all clicked. There, he earned a degree in Music Production and Engineering, all the while studying drum set, saxophone, and piano; and also studying electronics at the Lowell Institute (night school) at MIT. Years later (a fe...w ) Karttikeya (Kart) now serves as the Senior Audio Engineer for Music Together Worldwide, the gold-standard leader in early childhood music development. Kart records, edits, and mixes the new music. He also performs drums and percussion on some tracks as well as co-arranging some of the songs. Outside of work, Kart plays in a wide variety of local ensembles spanning the gamut from americana to jazz to worldbeat and new age. Karttikeya’s specialty, though, are the rare and mystical handpan instruments which are featured on his album: www.TuriyaMusic.com. Kart jumped at the chance to run the sound for Second Vision, and he’s never looked back. It’s such a pleasure to work with such talented and professional singers and musicians. The band rocks! MEET THE BAND FRIDAY IS HERE! Have we got a very very special guy for you...the man, the myth, the legend, our fearless leader, and the guy that has brought this band family together meet the VinMan, Vince Celenza! Vince began his passion for music at a young age listening to his mother play classical piano at home. Vince started playing guitar at an early early age and joined the Cardinal Dougherty High School band playing the clarinet in the concert band, marching ...band and playing bass in the jazz band. Instructed by William Whitaker, Larry McKenna, and 8 years at settlement music school with Karl Krelove. Inspired by music of all genres and driven by his passion for music Vince played in local rock bands playing covers of Foreigner, Robert Palmer, Stones performing in local clubs in Pa and New Jersey. Looking to expand the play list to more genres he formed the Second Vision Band which started as a 7 piece and grew to 11 very talented musicians; each bringing a little something different to the mix. Performing mostly in Philadelphia and surrounding areas but has traveled from Virginia to Connecticut. Meet the band Friday is here! This week we are stickin to the horn section and featuring Zaza on the trumpet, aka Joey Joseph started playing trumpet at age 9. He studied with the great Tony Marchione. He enjoyed many years as a young musician traveling around the world with the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra and Later in life working as a theater musician with Royal Carribean. Larry has been playing professionally in the PHL area for 20+ years. He graduated from Temple University and is a music teacher in Camden, NJ.
