It is with much sadness to announce the passing of Marie Flynn. Mrs. Flynn was a long-time volunteer and supporter of our Soup Kitchen. She will be greatly missed but always in our hearts. Our condolences to Mrs. Flynn's family and friends. May she sing with the Angels!
Dear Everyone, Something WONDERFUL and EXCITING is happening on February 27th! Mark your calendars!! As the Soup Kitchen Director, it is my sincere belief that to be supported we must also show support. With others helping us, we must help others. I also believe that it is our responsibility to strive to be an active and respected part of our community. ... This is done by not just being a "little soup kitchen" that serves meals to those in need. Indeed we are a vital resource to the less fortunate, but through building relationships and partnerships, and showing up to give back or lend help whenever we can has made us so much more than just a soup kitchen. We are a presence in our community. And for this we are very grateful and proud. To say that it is an honor to be a part of this event coming to Pottsville is an understatement for sure. I welcome all of you to share this and to join us as we support not only Black History Month but also all those who are doing for others. There is no charge to attend, but there is some really good home-made soup, chili, bread, and dessert for everyone and anyone who stops by. :-) My heartfelt gratitude to Aaron Snowell for having us as part of this event. His support and lasting friendship are worth more than words can say. See you all on February 27th! Terry See more
Always remember the man who had a dream. MLK
The numbers are in for 2020, and a grand total of 13,270 meals were served! Incredible, say? THANK YOU to everyone who played a part in making this possible. Your support is truly appreciated. <3 Here's to 2021!
Lots of toy-wrapping going on! If you have some time to spare, join us please!
1,241 meals went out our doors between Christmas Eve and Christmas Day! Additionally, 182 children got a visit from Santa bearing gifts for them. It was through the Kindness, Generosity, and Sincere Support of MANY who helped us touch the lives of others. <3 THANK YOU SO VERY, VERY MUCH!
Teamwork makes the Dream Work! And Grateful are we!!
More happy tears. Thank you, Williamson, Friedman, and Jones. #soveryverygrateful
This is the Something Wonderful that happened today. I was so overwhelmed that I cried when I walked in to the Mahanoy SCI lobby. Took 2 box trucks and a pick-up truck to haul the all toys and food items that they collected for our Christmas Event. <3
If you don't already know, along with doing Christmas dinner, we've teamed up with Dustin's Adventureland to also provide toys to help families with children. And we've got Santa helping us! Really we do! There's been a lot of activity at the 504 building during the past 2 weeks, and as we count down the days to Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, I want to share with you all the wonderfulness of what's going on. We pride ourselves in being a comforting resource for those wa...nting a good, hot meal, but we also take great pride in showing that we're more than just that. Team Work Makes the Dream Work, and we are so very, very happy to be a part of something greater than we could have ever imagined. Over 160 children will receive gifts and we're shooting to serve and deliver 1,000 meals on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. To all who have supported, donated, and helped us: THANK YOU! Truly and sincerely: THANK YOU! God Bless and We wish you a Very Merry Christmas. <3 See more
