This dapper group of veterans came across our desk recently. They are members of Mildred American Legion Post 452, and this photo was probably taken in the early 1960s. Can anyone identify them for us?

We thank all our veterans, today and every day, for their sacrifice and for doing the good work to keep our country safe!

Pennsylvania was the 7th state to ratify the 19th amendment, which became law 100 years ago today. These residents of Hillsgrove appear to be active supporters of the movement, and we thank them for that! Be sure to register to vote if you haven't already!

We regret that we have decided to indefinitely postpone our annual meeting, originally scheduled for August 13. The Museum remains open by appointment only for the foreseeable future. Please call us at 570-946-5020 if you would like to visit. But if you are in the Laporte area, please stop by the Baldwin House garden. It is looking beautiful and is always open. You are welcome to walk through any time.

Here are a couple of updates about our schedule for the summer: - The Museum will be open by appointment only until the end of August. Please call to arrange a visit - there is frequently someone in on Tuesdays and Thursdays. - The Society annual meeting will take place August 13 at 6:00 pm at Pealer Hall in Dushore. We will not be having a dinner this year. The speaker will be Harry Owens and he will be speaking about the Bowman Creek Branch of the Lehigh Valley Railro...ad. - The 2020 History Quest is the ideal activity while social distancing! The brochure is available on our website and at various locations around the county.
