TechShop Pittsburgh will remain OPEN until November 30, 2017. This is largely due to the dedication of the local maker community and for that we can only say thank you. For more information please read the statement below posted by the TechShop CEO, Dan Woods ______________... Dear Maker... I'm thrilled to announce that TechShop Pittsburgh will remain open until November 30th, 2017. Protohaven, the local member steering committee, TechShop staff, and members have been working incredibly hard to make plans for this next iteration of Pittsburgh's largest open-access maker community. We want to support these efforts in every way possible. This lease extension will buy some much needed time to finalize planning and arrange funding to continue operation of TechShop Pittsburgh as a licensee. Fortunately, TechShop was able to strike a deal with Walnut Capital to extend our lease through November. TechShop, Inc. will continue to operate TechShop Pittsburgh LLC through November, at which time we hope to be able to transfer the TechShop Pittsburgh license to Protohaven. The doors will remain open. Classes will be taught, lives will continue to be transformed, and makers will continue to make through November and beyond. For this reason, our hope is to transfer membership to the hands of Protohaven smoothly and keep all makers engaged in Pittsburgh for years to come. We are indebted to the tenacity, perseverance, and spirit of the TechShop Pittsburgh staff, member steering committee and you, the TechShop Pittsburgh members. None of this would be possible with your support. We will continue to work with Gad, Protohaven, and the local community to do everything possible to keep serving Pittsburgh's makers. Warm regards, Dan Woods CEO, TechShop, Inc. [email protected] 1-855-TECHSHOP techshop.com
