Saturday December 5, 2020 we had the pleasure of working with a spectacular group of girls with goals! South Jersey Teenshop’s virtual arts and culture worksh...op was entitled, I’m Speaking. The young ladies and their mentors have so much to be proud of. They are bright, beautiful and so very ready to use their voices to positively impact the world. (12-5) Let your creativity flow! South Jersey Teenshop presented an Arts and Culture virtual workshop lead by Dibble and Dabble Creativity Center in Carteret, New Jersey. The theme was "I'm Speaking". Some girls wore their Tie-Dye Tshirts that they made during the previous S.T.E.M workshop. For both workshops, the chapter leaders purchased supplies requested by the presenters and arranged for parents to pick them up. (11-21) Creative virtual STEM fun at South Jersey Teenshop! Our girls and leaders learned how to tie dye T-shirts and studied the history and chemistry of this art. Workshop presenter @Lashonda Sherman lives in Chicago and founded STEMulating Stars, which motivates and builds interest in STEM. She has also hosted events attended by the city's mayor. The chapter bought supply kits for our girls to ensure that everyone could enjoy the activity, and I enjoyed my virtual visit! #STEMulatingStars #LaShondaSherman #southjerseyteenshop #teenshop1985 #girlswithgoals

(11-21) Know Justice, Know Peace was the virtual workshop today for three of our five chapters. At Los Angeles Teenshop, the topic was presented by Rayn Gravel...ly, Esq., left. In Philadelphia, Teenshop Vice Chair Ebony Wortham, Esq. was the presenter for Mount Carmel and Grace Teenshop combined chapters. Since we're virtual, I visited Los Angeles too! KNOW JUSTICE, KNOW PEACE - South Jersey Teenshop - Hope E. Goins is the Staff Director of the United States House of Representives on Homeland Security. Her experience includes advising on matters including counterterrorism, cyber security, and civil liberties. S.T.E.M (Forensic Science)-Grace & Mount Carmel Teenshop - Detective Terry Lewis, County Detective in Montgomery County. A veteran retired Philadelphia Officer, Detective Lewis has a specialized knowledge in Crime Scene Investigations and instructional experience in Law Enforcement.
