The Game Station

Interesting piece of video game history traded in today! This is the Sega Genesis Green Label version of Game Factory ! This game cartridge was only used in Blockbuster stores and basically was used as a Rent-A-Rom when IBM joined forces with the company to rent games for your choice via download - kind of similar to what an everdrive can do today.... It certainly has an interesting motherboard and this cartridge was powered up and kept memory via a large battery set on the board - We will be installing a new battery next week to see if a game was downloaded many years ago prior to the battery dying even though from what we hear the dead battery totally erases the content that was on it. Most of these cartridges that survived had either blockbuster labels or the label was torn like this one - the label originally had a plain label with nothing on the front There wasn't a ton of these developed and many were destroyed during the last several years of Blockbuster but some survived as this one did We will price this shortly - definitely a piece of video game history!
