With a big assist from Chief Justin Gattorno and the West Grove Fire Company the water main is repaired and our peeps in South Hills have water flowing! #MAKEITHAPPEN #THEGROVE

Please be advised that we have a water main break in the South Hills Development. Crews will be in the area of South Hills Drive and Tulip Lane working to correct the issue. We will attempt to contact residents in the area to notify them but please pass this along if you know anyone that may be affected. Water will be shut off for an extended period while repairs are made.

PSA: West Grove Borough Council determined last Wednesday that the Show Must Go On with Halloween in the Borough. It is the individual homeowners and parents decision to make regarding participation. It’s also the communities responsibility to make the activity happen as safely as possible on both sides. Be creative with candy shoots on your railings that drop into children’s buckets and things like that. We will have plenty of police protection in town to keep traffic calm and the children safe, they will however not be the COVID police....that is everyone’s responsibility participating in the event. Wear masks, stay safe and let’s let our children have some normal fun. #THEGROVE #OURHOMETOWN

PSA: Chester County had teamed up with the Library system in the County to offer Official Ballot Drop Boxes. The flyer provided shows the availability of the box and additional information including additional drop off locations and contact numbers should you have any questions.

The West Grove Borough recycling program that runs weekly on Wednesday’s will begin to undergo some necessary changes. The recyclables we collect are processed at the SECCRA landfill. SECCRA has alerted us that they will no longer accept recycling in plastic bags, either single use retailer bags or trash bags. These bags clog the processing machines and are the number one contaminate in the recycling process. Number two is pizza boxes. Neither will be accepted in our rec...ycling stream moving forward. Single use plastic bags should be saved and recycled at your retailer of choice such as Giant or Lowe’s, both have collection boxes as you enter. If you need more recycling capacity please use clean plastic trash cans the crews can easily handle or contact the office and we will drop additional bins off for you. Starting next week we will begin tagging locations that are not properly presenting recycling, which needs to be clean, free from refuse and contain no plastic bags or pizza boxes. The week of October 19th we will begin to reject improperly presented recyclables. Currently SECCRA does not charge us to deposit recycling, that however will change if we don’t clean up our stream of materials and we need the communities help to accomplish this. #THEGROVE See more

PSA: 1) 4th quarter Water/Sewer bills went in the mail today with a due date of Monday November 9th. 2) Curbside leaf pick up will begin Monday October 12th and will run through Friday December 11th. ... 3) Borough Council will make a decision regarding Trick or Treating at Wednesday’s meeting and we will communicate what is decided through Facebook and the Website.

Hope everyone is enjoying the refreshing fall air that has moved into the area. East Penn Railroad has been doing track maintenance in the Borough with some pretty wild looking machinery. The operator explained they are measuring the width of the track and identifying areas that are no longer 56.5 inches apart. Once they do they install tensioning bars to both straighten the track and also bring it into tolerance for the width. The second machine I believe levels areas where stone has built up around the track.

Lary has waited 25 years for this day....West Grove Borough took delivery of our brand new 2021 International dump truck today. Bring on the snow, we’re ready to roll !!!

With a heavy heart I am informing the Borough residents of the loss of a beloved member of our community. Saturday August 8, 2020 Mr. Dominic Ruffini past away at the age of 92. Pictured from left to right are Mayor Stephen Black, Mr. Ruffini, John Ruffini and Senator Andy Dinnaman. The photo was taken May 26, 2018 where Mr. Ruffini was honored as the Grand Marshall of the Memorial Day Parade which he was instrumental in starting. Mr. Ruffini lived and worked in West Grov...e for most of his life and served on Borough Council for many years. Mr. Ruffini will be missed by many, including myself as some of my earliest childhood memories are him putting the shaving cream on my neck and sideburns and pulling out the straight razor to finish the cut!! Please share your memories in the comments. The flags at the Borough Office were lowered to half staff, as directed by Mayor Black, until Friday at sunset to honor Mr. Ruffini. RIP Sir See more

Power companies from Richmond Virginia organizing at the PECO substation in the Borough...if you don’t have power they’re working on getting to you

With the sycamore tree coming down the tree company located a honeybee nest in one branch that is still up in Harmony Park by the well house. It’s been marked with caution tape until the bee expert can come in and access the best course of action with the hive which is in process. Please be cautious in the area.

Wood chips available at the Borough maintenance garage at 100 South Guernsey road. These are actually from the Sycamore tree we had to bring down up at Harmony Park, one of the oldest trees in the Borough so you can landscape with some local history
