Westfield Area Historical Society

I had the pleasure of meeting the great grandchildren of Lawrence Plank (1904-1975) a local author from Brookfield Twp. and his granddaughter, Jennifer Persing Raptis. Lawrence had a daughter Lucille who graduated with Carol Davis Ransom who also traveled over to Plank Road with me. Carol was able to share many memories of Lucille and her parents with the Raptis family. Jennifer contacted me yesterday asking about the old farm and with the help of historical records, Ancestry, and several local friends, today we were able to trace back eight generations.

March 19th regular meeting and March 23rd Bingo is cancelled. The Flea Market and Craft show scheduled April 4 has also been cancelled.

Event will be Friday and Saturday this week.

Reminder - this morning from 8:00 - 10:00 a.m. you can get a Tannery cart for $100. You must haul the cart yourself and will need a truck and/or trailer. If you... can’t come today and would like a cart, call our office Monday through Friday at 570-723-8232.
