It’s Doctor Feature Friday! Meet Dr. TJ Ameredes. He was born and raised in Weirton, WV. He graduated Cum Laude from Bethany College in 2000. He went to West Virginia University Dental School and graduated in 2005 receiving his DDS degree. When the opportunity presented itself to return to the Ohio Valley, Dr. TJ Ameredes was excited to work in an office in Pittsburgh, PA. He has also volunteered his time with the underprivileged, children and at numerous geriatric centers. Dear Advanced Dentistry patients, As of May 26th our office is officially reopen and scheduling patients for treatment. First and foremost, we would like to thank all of our patients that have waited patiently for this reopening and stayed loyal to our practice during this difficult time. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety. As members of the healthcare community we have always implemented hospital grade sterilization... and cleanliness standards. Now, due to the ever-changing climate surrounding the COVID-19 virus, our office has taken even more significant measures to continue to protect our patients and staff. These changes include: A complete remodel of our front office, allowing patients to social-distance while waiting for his/her scheduled appointment. Reducing the number of appointments regularly scheduled each day to allow social-distancing in the waiting room and to allow significant time for each operatory to be disinfected following each appointment. Providing questionnaires related to the COVID-19 virus, recording each patient’s temperature, along with providing application of hand sanitizer upon arrival for each scheduled appointment. Installation of UV air infiltration throughout the entire office, as well as stand-alone UV light air systems that kill 99.97% of airborne particles including germs, bacteria and viruses in each hygiene (or cleaning) room. Enhancement of our personal protective equipment which staff members are required to wear to continue to protect our staff, as well as patients. As we have always followed all guidelines, our office is requiring each patient (along with accompanying family or friends) wear a mask when entering our office. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety. Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and you may have seen this during your visits to our office. Our infection c...ontrol processes are made so that when you receive care, it's both safe and comfortable. We want to tell you about the infection control procedures we follow in our practice to keep patients and staff safe. Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to each agencies' recommendations. You may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff. For example: Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions. You will be asked those same questions again when you are in the office. We have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter the office. You will also find some in the reception area and other places in the office for you to use as needed. You may see that our waiting rooms will no longer offer magazines, children's toys and so forth, since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect. Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you are offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment. We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time.
