Congratulations to Anna Whiteman ’09 for being named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list last week in the venture capital category! Anna is the vice president of Coefficient Capital, and actively serves on the Board of the New York chapter of the Vinetta Project, a capital platform that sources, funds and supports the world’s most promising female founders. Anna will participate in a virtual discussion Tuesday in the Wharton Women in Business Club’s panel Breaking Diversity Barriers in VC and Entrepreneurship. The Center for the Advancement of Girls is proud to welcome Dr. Lisa Damour for a virtual discussion for parents this Wednesday, December 9! Dr. Damour will explain the psychological science behind how stress and anxiety operate under everyday conditions, as well as times of heightened disruption. Juniors Ava Sim and Emma Twitmyer have been accepted into The Coding School’s first-ever, year-long quantum computing course in collaboration with IBM Quantum. They will be introduced to the field of quantum, including quantum mechanics, quantum computation and quantum algorithms in this virtual, introductory course that is taught by MIT and Oxford researchers and sponsored by IBM Quantum. Ava and Emma will be two of the first students globally to gain this in-depth knowledge in quantum computing from The Coding School. Read more at the link below. Congrats girls!

For today's #FeatureFriday, we're spotlighting our Upper School Administrative Assistant and Staff Coordinator of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Mrs. Donna Page! Mrs. Page has worked at AIS for over 11 years and she loves it "because of the girls. The students are amazing they are sweet, they are intelligent, and they are just plain fun." She also loves spending time with her family, and her favorite foods change depending on who she's with sushi with her son, pizza with her husband. But no matter who she's with, her favorite dessert is a cannoli from one specific bakery in South Philly. Can you guess which bakery it is?
