Altoona Center For Nursing and Amber Terrace would like to wish all of the Veterans both past and present a happy Veterans Day. In honor of Veterans Day the activities department celebrated our 16 resident veterans and 2 staff veterans with snacks and small tokens of appreciation. Cards were also provided by community volunteers.

A special thank you to the Blair County Medical Assistance Officefor their generous donation of Angel Tree gifts for our residents and the pizza lunch for staff. We so appreciate you.

Well even with the changes in COVID status we were still able to rock our Halloween Carnival COVID safe room to room with carnival games, residents using gloves to play games and sanitizing equipment in between each use. We also had candy bags, cupcakes, witches brew, bobbin for applesauce, tattoos, Halloween packets for residents and staff on Amber Terrace and ACNC. A huge thank you to my staff Julia and part timers Lindsey and Ashley for your help in making the week a success. To everyone who dressed in costume or Halloween attire thank you.

Merry Christmas to ACNC staff and residents families. This week was a whirlwind of excitement and festivities. Activities hosted an Christmas Eve egg nog and cookie cart for all staff and residents. A special showing from Santa and Mrs Clause. Also Angel tree gifts for every resident with the help of staff and the Blair County Medical Assistance Office staff.

A well deserved shout out to Grane Hospice for the awesome Christmas decorations they provided us with this week. We are thankful to be part of your traveling show. Thank you for your continued love and support.
