Job Description AAHA accredited hospital seeking experienced Veterinary Technician or Assistant to join our team. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Performs all duties in accordance with government regulations and hospital policies and procedures. Prepare and maintain exam rooms Understands usage and dosage for commonly used prescription drugs including heartworm preventative and prescription flea control products Phlebotomy Restraint Administers SQ, IM and IV injections along with IV catheter placement Perform digital radiographs and ECG Excellent customer service skills Client education on preventative medicine Good communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to be a team player in a fast-paced setting Computer skills; experience with Idexx Cornerstone a plus Perform emergency procedures as directed by the veterinarian Anesthetic monitoring EXPERIENCE 1-2 years in small animal practice as an assistant or veterinary technician EDUCATION Candidate will preferably be certified as a Veterinary Technician or eligible to sit for the VTNE. However, candidates with prior experience in this role will be considered.
