Dear ABCCS Community: On January 6, 2021, as many Latino/Hispanic cultures were celebrating Three Kings Day, honoring their traditional heritage, our US State Capitol was targeted by civil unrest. Sadly a life was lost and there were many unanswered questions as to why these actions occurred. It is our duty as educators to model positive, civil behavior and show respect for democracy. - which we do. It is also our duty to teach students that civic engagement is the very fo...undation of our democratic system and that we do not tolerate acts of hate and violence. It is up to us, in a non-partisan way, to demonstrate our democratic principles to our school community and beyond. Please take some time during the instructional day on Thursday, 1/7/2021 to allow your students to express their feelings in a safe way. I've included several resources to assist you. Please also share with our ABCCS families as well by posting on our learning platforms and Class Dojo. Our Cyber Admin team, Psychologists, Counselors, and Behavior Specialist will be available to provide continued support as needed. Please reach out to us. The Coach and Athletic Director magazine and the National High School Athletic Coaches Association have joined forces to create a new program, Sports Under 40 Award - a monthly honor in an effort to recognize emerging sports industry leaders year-round. Mr. Seman was recently nominated and selected as the November Sports Under 40 honoree! He will be featured in the next print issue of Coach and Athletic Director magazine and online via their website (https://coachad.com/) and social media outlets.
