THE YEAR OF ST JOSEPH Pope Francis has declared the year from December 8, 2020 until December 8, 2021 the Year of St. Joseph, in recognition of role as Jesus’ earthly father. While details about how our local Church will celebrate this special year are forthcoming this month, Pope Francis’ prayer to St. Joseph is provided now as a resource. Hail, Guardian of the Redeemer, Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary. To you God entrusted His only Son; in you Mary placed her trust; with you Christ became man. Blessed Joseph, to us, too, show yourself a father and guide us in the path of life. Obtain for us grace, mercy, and courage, and defend us from every evil. Amen.

Pastoral Council Meeting Minutes from October 12th, 2020 and December 14th, 2020 The Pastoral Council has met twice since January 2020 to discuss how to move forward in our parish since the pandemic lockdowns began in March. We have noted that technology has helped to keep the Parish vibrant with virtual participation. Between the live streaming of the Mass via Facebook and having the My Parish App, a web page as well as having a You Tube account we can continue to reach out ...to our Parishioners. There are also e-mail blasts and occasional podcasts by Father Mike. We recognize that there is a need to communicate how we can access this information. We decided to implement a survey which will be available for participation via these internet vehicles and distributed at the Masses to help us learn how we can assist our parish community now and especially post-pandemic in order to help us grow in our faith in the Lord. This survey is expected to be rolled out by January 10th, 2021. See more

Mass Schedule for Christmas, 2020 and New Year, 2021 Dear ABVM family, Although you have already received my letter about this year’s Christmas schedule, I take the opportunity now to remind you, and to inform you of the schedule for January 1, the Solemnity of Mary, the Mother of God. The requirements for masks or face coverings for everyone over the age of 2, and social distancing remain in effect.... The Masses for Christmas are: 4:00 pm (with overflow seating in the Parish Hall), 6:30 pm, 8:30 pm, with our Indian Latin Catholic Community (in Malayalam with homily in English) on Christmas Eve; Midnight and 10:00 am on Christmas Day. Please remember no one may be admitted to the church after the now limited capacity is met for the 4:00 pm Mass, which is traditionally our best attended Mass. Please follow the ushers’ directions about seating capacity. The Masses for January 1 are the 5:00 pm on December 31, and the 10:00 am on January 1. While much has been unprecedently challenging for the past several months, Christmas and the beginning of the New Year on the Solemnity of Mary, the Mother of God are coming and we will celebrate again this year. Please continue to pray for the end to COVID-19, comfort for all who have lost their loved ones, recovery of health to all who are ill, recovery of livelihoods to the unemployed and their families, and a blessed 2021 for all. Peace and blessings, Father Mike
