11/1/2020 Dear Wildcat Parents/Guardians, Students, and Community, The intent of this communication is to notify our school community of a recent Covid-19 situation involving our school district family.... We found out today that a student at the Lynch-Bustin Elementary School has tested positive for COVID-19. The last day this student was in school was Thursday, October 29th. The student was asymptomatic and was beginning a quarantine as a result of being a close contact of a potential COVID-19 positive individual. The Department of Health has been notified. At the direction of the Department of Health, we have notified all close contacts in this case and the close contacts will be quarantining for a period of time determined by the Department of Health. Please understand that the health information, including the names of the positive cases, is confidential to protect their privacy. Our facilities are cleaned daily, including high touch and traffic areas multiple times a day. We ask that parents continue to screen children daily before coming to school and keep them home if they are sick. If you have a COVID-19 related issue, please call building principals and they can assist you. As a community, the key to our success is to continue working together as we strive to keep our students, faculty, and staff safe and healthy. Happy Halloween All!! As we continue to make changes to accommodate our new normal we have also made a slight change to our game. Effective immediately (sta...rting 11/3/20) our game will be temporarily eliminating the use of hard cards for regular bingo games, this will help eliminate unnecessary contact. We will now be using only paper and electronics. The rest of our game will remain the same. Attached you will find our new Tuesday program along with our pricing. There is a slight increase as this unfortunately will be more expensive for us on a supply basis, but it will be VERY MINIMAL!! We will continue to sanitize all electronics each week as well as continuing to sanitize our building, tables, and chairs regularly. It is our mission to keep everyone as safe as possible during this trying time. Keep in mind we are practicing social distancing, taking temps upon entry,& requiring masks be worn at all times unless you’re at your table playing. (WE DO RECOMMEND THE MASK AT ALL TIMES!!) Athens Township Volunteer Fire Company is greatly appreciative of all the support our patrons show us weekly and we will do our best to continue to provide you a Tuesday night safe space. Month of November Meal Pick-up Available Starting Monday November 2, 2020, Sign-up NOW for the Month!... The U.S. Secretary of Agriculture recently announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) will extend several flexibilities for school meals throughout the remainder of 2020 as well as into the 2021 school year. The USDA stated, As our nation reopens and people return to work, it remains critical our children continue to receive safe, healthy, and nutritious food. This means any child residing in our Athens Area School District community 18 & under is eligible for free breakfast and lunch meals. At this time the free meals for all children will be available until June of 2021. For the month of November Meal pick-up will be available at SRU elementary school and Harlan Rowe Middle School every Monday 5:30-6:30pm. By filling out this form, you are signing up for a five-day prepared breakfast and lunch meal pick-up every Monday for the month until you request to stop these services. Any questions please contact our Food Service Director. Please fill out a separate form for each child who needs breakfast and lunch meals and is NOT an in-person student receiving meals on instructional days. The meal pick-up for November 30th will be extended to Tuesday, December 1, 2020 due to the Thanksgiving holiday weekend with no school Monday. BINGO IS STILL HAPPENING TOMORROW!!! The hall hall has been cleaned and sanitized as we do every week (both tables & chairs). We will be increasing social dista...nce standards this week and limiting entry to 10 players at a time. We will continue to take temperatures and masks must be worn at all times when not at your tables. MASKS MUST BE WORN TO COVER YOUR NOSE AND MOUTH!! This is also our Halloween super bingo where we have 2 must go jackpots of $666 and increased bonuses. We encourage all to be festive for Halloween and will award prizes to the best costumes. With that being said MASKS WILL STILL BE REQUIRED. Your safety is our top priority!!! We will have cider and doughnuts for all patrons tomorrow. Seating is still limited to 130 players on a first come first serve basis. Everyone stay safe and we look forward to seeing you all for a festive Halloween super bingo!!
