Philadelphia Trial Update: Mainline Attorney the late George DeAngelo ducked depositions, died 4 years after being sued but before trial, and the attorney for his estate asserted the Deadman's Rule to preclude evidence. While he was still alive, he produced a so-called accounting, and returned (without release or other agreement) $328k which he euphemistically characterized as having been "overcharged." The judge allowed all claims (Breach of Contract, Negligence, Breach of ...Fiduciary Obligations and Conversion) to go to the jury against George, his son David DeAngelo (with whom he practiced and the Firm DeAngelo and Eurell. The jury found that my client knew or should have known of the actionable conduct regarding David and the Firm, prior to the latest date for the statute of limitations. They found that all of the claims against George were timely and rendered a verdict against George on each count. In addition to the $328k previously recovered, the jury awarded a verdict of $600k For a net $928k. Now to deal with the insurer and convert a verdict into something that can be disbursed and spent......

I am find that I am recalling more and more frequently - a story which heard when I was a boy; It has really had a great deal of influence in shaping my views on church questions. It was in a Southern Methodist church that I heard it. The minister said that there was a mill and that many people brought wheat to the mill by several roads.
