I love what this has to say. It’s from my Ayurvedic textbook. Mind is a flow of thoughts as the river is a flow of water. If thought is clear the river is clear. If water is dirty, muddy or polluted, the river is polluted. If water is abundant, the river is flooded and swollen. If water is diminished, the river is narrow. As the water, so the river.
Milo decided to join us and do legs up the wall tonight. We did a Yoga Tune Up and yin yoga class tonight.
Change is sometimes good and sometimes not so good. I’m going through some changes. 1st I started an yurvedic training. 2nd I’m in the processor changing my schedule to only private’s and semi private sessions. Maybe one day I will go back out and teach in a yoga studio but it won’t be here in PA but down south.
By far one of my favorite things to do when I am stressed. Maybe give it a try
I receive motion quotes every morning. On Sunday morning this popped up. I always find it interesting that things I am dreaming about I get an affirmation that I need to not stop dreaming.
Many people cannot allow themselves the time to sit and do nothing but breathe. They consider it to be uneconomical or a luxury. People say time is money. But... time is much more than money. Time is life. The simple practice of sitting quietly on a regular basis can be profoundly healing. Stopping and sitting is a good way to focus on mindful breathing and nothing else. - Thich Nhat Hanh Painting: Tomás Sánchez

I'm sorry all my daytime clients, Jury duty this week. York County thanks you for allowing me to do my civic duty. Personally I hope to never get called again. If all goes well I hope to be back to normal Friday this week or Monday next week. I will contact you if I am free on Friday.

I am just finishing up my second week of a cleanse. I did so much better on the second week than I did on the first week. I probably will do another detox cleanse in the fall. I used M'lis detox cleanse and it was so great. I haven't even checked about how much weight I am down but my belly isn't puffy and my pants are looser.

Be Consistent, Not Insistent To keep your practice consistent, remember what the famous Nike ad says: Just do it. Don’t concern yourself with trying to get to some particular place or state of mind. Welcome Spring A time for growth, renewal and regeneration
I’m hoping to post by the end of the week some Yoga Time Up therapy ball rolling. I was doing so good on morning rolling and December just got crazy and I got out of the habit. This morning I am back on my morning ritual, my body is like thank you. If you’re not sure what this therapy ball rolling is come and check me out Wednesday night 6:30 pm cost $10.00 your body may thank you.
Tonight’s Yin yoga class will start at 6:30 pm instead of 6 pm. I will be out making a Holiday chocolate house. My space is set anyone else attending tonight let me know so I can have a spot set for you. The more the merrier.
Okay so life even gets busy for me. Thursday and Friday were crazy days. I took my time today for all three days. Wide angle pose with prop (straddle w/ prop) When you first sit one the floor if this is hard to do, sit on a pillow to elevate hips. Start to fold forward and bring yourself down on the bolster (prop) that you are using. Only go as far as your body allows you to go. Hold for 5 minutes *** Remember you are only going a gentle place not to where the stretch i...s too intense. Next pose Side Lying over bolster Sit sideways and hug bolster(blanket/pillows) into the hip. Slide over your prop. Allow yourself to stay here for 5 minutes. Supported bridge: use a yoga block or any firm cushion. Place under your hips and lower hips on to prop. Stay here for 5 minutes. PM me at Body Movement Therapy for any question or post any questions.
December 6th. Normally I love to start my day with a restorative pose. I generally find it starts my day a little calmer and relaxed. No such luck today. Legs up the wall. Basically you are trying to get as close to the wall bringing the legs up the wall. Benefits: relaxation, stretches the back of the legs (hamstrings) and the low back, facilitates venous drainage and increase circulation, soothes swollen feet and cramping legs. Check back tomorrow
Day 5 on December 5th. Wow, I did it two days on the correct day. Shavasana with bolster under knees. For this pose you can use a bolster, blankets, or pillows. Begin lying on your back with blankets under your knees. Just allow yourself to relax. Once again take 5 minutes or as long as you can give. Remember you can take less than 5 minutes, 5 minutes or even longer.
So I am posting December 4th on the 4th. Wow, good for me. I am slowly getting better at this whole video thing. I may ask Santa for an early present . A GoPro. I the IPad seems to be doing an okay job for now. Today’s pose: A wall butterfly (AKA: Wall Baddha Konasana). FOr this come as close to the wall as you can and put your legs up the wall. From here we are going to put the soles of the feet together, knees go wide. Slowly allow the feet to come down to your bottom as your knees bend. Only go as far as comfortable for you. Once again dim the lights and play so soft relaxing music. Find a song that is about 5 minutes or even longer. Erase all the thoughts of what has to be done or needs to be done. You may find you can focuse better by taking a few minutes out of your day just for you.
Okay so I videoed on December 3rd but I am posting it on December 4th. Instead of legs up the wall I took a variation. Legs up on the bed or couch. You just snuggle your bottom as close as possible to the bed/couch. Bring your leg up on to the bed/couch. Close your eyes and rest for about 5 minutes. You can set a timer, play a song or count breaths.
Day 2 Restorative child’s pose Take as many pillows and blankets and fold them to support your body. Have an extra small blanket for behind the knees. I hope these poses help easy you into a busy time of year. Just so everyone who watches this video, I am being taken out of my comfort zone by doing and posting videos.
If you can spare an hour of your time why not join me tonight at 6 pm for Yin yoga. Some feel that this class is restorative and others it is a deep stretch. Which ever style you need why not come tonight for some self-care.
Day 1 of restorative poses. I know I am 3 day behind on posts. Day 2 and 3 will happen later today. Pose: Blanket roll under upper back. Keeping it below the shoulder blades so the shoulders can touch the floor. Knees can be bent and feet on the floor or legs extended. Focus on your breath and see if you can stay here for about 5 mins ( about 75 full complete breaths).

I have been on this journey of change. I renamed my business because my thinking has changed, we all don't need the same movement. Sometimes we need a mixture of movements. Whether it is yoga of some form, pilates, core align or even Yoga Tune Up. I have been working on helping individuals healing themselves. Working of creating suppleness, trying to resolve pain and injury prevention. Always thinking about creating a well rounded workout. Any additions that you may want to see at Body Movement Therapy let me know. I think Trx in the next addition.
"No matter what situation we find ourselves in, we can always set our compass to our highest intentions in the present moment." Jack Kornfield, Set the Compass of Your Heart
Body Tune up tonight at 6:30 pm. In this class each student is invited to explore using the Yoga Tune Up therapy balls on their body’s anatomy, exploring every micro-region while systematically and intelligently priming body, mind, and spirit. The practice encourages exploration of personal imbalances, areas of tension, and repetitive stress. Expect to move in ways that open, energize, and inform your tissues! Interested in learning self-massage, but you’re a total yoga beginner? Not to worry, all levels are welcome!
We give our car's a tune up. Why not give your Body a Tune Up? You may find you have some body blind spots you didn't even know were there. Maybe you will self ...massage and release some tension trapped inside of you. Join me on September 16, 2017 at 1 pm for some Yoga Tune Up at Yoga on Chocolate in Hershey, Pa.
