It's about to get reeeeeeeal hairy in here! Do not be alarmed! The Sheriff has agreed to continue our 2nd annual inter-office fundraising campaign...NO SHAVE NOVEMBER & DECEMBER! Any deputy wanting to participate will have to pay $30 for each month. Last year, some of our deputies threw in extra donations on top of their cost as well as donations from deputies who could not participate. The money will be divided between local law enforcement departments for "Santa’s Shop with a Cop" program. We can also accept any donations from other county employee's or the public. If you have any interest, please contact Captain Alstadt at 724-773-8549. So, please excuse us as we end the year looking a little rugged.

On behalf of me and my deputies, we would like to wish everyone a happy and safe holiday season. For several reasons 2020 has been the most difficult and unusual year that most anyone has experienced. With each step of the way, we have been faced with change, inconvenience, ever-changing safety procedures, and our daily routines have been turned upside down. The way of life that we were used to has quite possibly changed forever with no return of familiarity in sight. As ...we enter a new year, my hope is that the challenges we were forced to face will dissipate and that we will return to a life of normalcy. Please keep our deputies and fellow first responders in mind as you enjoy your time with your families and remember that they are still working. I would like to thank my sworn and civilian personnel for holding things together through this sweeping pandemic. Around the Thanksgiving holiday, COVID ran through our department and we were down to a handful of personnel, but they pulled us through by making personal sacrifices and continuing the operation of this office. Every day is uncharted territory and we all have attempted to make the best of it. Even though our first responders face difficulty, danger and criticism on a daily basis, they are also blessed by dedicating themselves to the line of work they chose. God bless you and your families and I wish for a more positive and less chaotic new year for all of us. -Sheriff Tony Guy See more

We want to thank all of the little artists for submitting their work. Congratulations to AJ, Charlie, Alex and Malissa! Parents will be receiving a call shortly. We are located on the bottom floor of the courthouse in the Sheriff's Office Criminal Division. Please ask for Sgt. Jennifer Bredemeier to claim your prizes or call her at 724-770-4619 to set up a special pick-up time.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE December 14, 2020 Wolf Administration Grants Fifth Extension to License to Carry Firearm Permits... Harrisburg, PA The Pennsylvania State Police announced today that Governor Tom Wolf has granted an additional extension to license to carry firearms permits. Permits expiring on March 19, 2020 or later are now valid through March 31, 2021. The previous extension was set to expire on December 31. The extension of license to carry permit expiration dates is necessary due to the closure of some county courthouses and sheriff's offices, as well as other ongoing COVID-19 mitigation efforts. In Pennsylvania, an individual 21-years-old or older may apply for a license to carry firearms by submitting a completed application to the sheriff of the county in which they reside or, if a resident of a city of the first class, with the chief of police of that city. The sheriff has 45 days to investigate and determine an individual's eligibility to be issued a license, which is valid for five years. A license to carry firearms is required to carry a firearm concealed on one’s person or in a vehicle. Any person who carries a firearm concealed on or about his person except in his place of abode or fixed place of business without a valid and lawfully issued license commits a felony of the third degree. For more information on firearms in Pennsylvania, visit psp.pa.gov.

You may have noticed that our deputies are looking a little harrier than usual....well that's because in October of this year, the Sheriff decided to do a fundraiser for local children in need. He offered to suspend the facial hair policy for those deputies that would like to donate money to the "No Shave November" fundraiser. Deputies had to donate at least $30 to participate and not only was the minimum met, but some deputies donated more than the requirement. Those tha...t chose not to grow a beard donated as well. The fundraiser has been so successful that the Sheriff decided to extend it through December and allow them to give their razors...and their faces...a break. We are proud to announce that close to $1,000 was raised and donated to three organizations participating in providing a better Christmas for less fortunate local children. The money was divided and presented to Mr. Shawn Owens from BCCLEC (Beaver County Community and Law Enforcement Coalition), Chief Dave Piuri of Monaca PD, and Chief Keith McCarthy of Midland PD. Thank you to those organizations for doing what they do to help their communities and to our deputies for their participation. See more

*****ATTENTION***** We have had 4 people call in to our office to say they received a call from Sgt. Lupo at the Beaver County Sheriff’s Office Warrants Division saying they had a warrant and requested money over the phone to rescind it. The number they used to call these people is in fact a local number but IT IS NOT US!!! A law enforcement agency would NEVER ask for money for a warrant, especially over the phone. In order to take care of a warrant, there is a process that... does not include telephonic money transfer. If you receive a call from our office about a warrant you must send money for...let them know that you are aware of this scam and give our office a call at 724-770-4602. The REAL Sgt. Lupo will answer and assure you that this is just a scam. The people behind this are being looked into and we apologize, even though its not us. It is unfortunate that someone is using a law enforcement agency, that is meant for emergencies etc., to scam people. Please share this post so that we can reach as many people as possible before someone sends them any money.

Our hearts are heavy today as K-9 Ciro went to see the Lord at approximately 1200 hours. He served 8 years with the Beaver County Sheriff's Office with his dad (Deputy Jim Brown) and received multiple awards. Ciro was well known throughout the County and highly respected. He was surrounded by his family and close law enforcement friends as we had a private gathering and sent him with an officer's escort, led by Trooper Mike Brown and Officer Jim Brown, jr. of Aliquippa. He was transported by his doctor and close friend, "Dr. Mike." If you would like to send your condolences, you can do so by leaving them on this post, his handler can see them. Or, you can mail them to the Office at 810 Third Street, Beaver Pa 15009, Attn: Deputy Jim Brown.
