For those of you new to my messages, my mission is to guide humanity to create out of inspiration, passion and joy and not out of emotional trauma (that's so ve...ry last-century!). Today's message is about the small things. I mean the really small things. Yesterday after shopping for some secret Santa gifts for the Salvation Army and delivering flowers to our church elderly, I was walking around the outdoor Promenade Shops looking for a few final gifts (it was impossible not to notice the reduced traffic and dozens of shuttered stores~the unfortunate sign of the times). In fine holiday fashion, Yankee Candle had a great sale and I was musing about getting home from the long day out, lighting those candles and sitting back to watch the latest Hallmark movie (yes, I am one of those people who can watch Hallmark Christmas movies all year long!). And then it hit me~ a moment of guilt. Yes, I get those too (the trick is to not hang onto that guilt for longer than that moment). "How dare I want such frivolous things as candles and television when so many millions are homeless and hungry?" And just as quickly, I tapped into the knowledge that I know are my truths: ~What is best for me (i.e: the frequency that makes me healthiest and happiest) is best for all. ~Energetic ripple effects do exist: my peace radiates out from me to trigger that "peace frequency" in others. ~My shrinking or thinking small does not allow others to think or dream bigger, we are in this together. ~Doing something good for the community to make me "feel better" is valid. We don't need to be martyrs in order to contribute meaningfully to our communities. Our "feeling better" is enough to trigger that much-needed "feel better" ripple effect. ~Nurturing my happiest and healthiest self will allow me to continue this work that I am meant to do, perhaps turning that ripple effect into a tidal wave... I used that moment of guilt to my advantage, tapping into my truths to share them with all of you. It's my wish that they resonate with you and that you continue to seek out what brings you peace and joy this holiday season because the small things do matter! Live in love, Carrie
