Daley’s Service Center served as the host location for today's much anticipated Annual Cub Scout Pinewood Derby!! Mayor DiGirolamo was on hand to watch the exciting competition among the Cub Scouts of Bensalem Pack 128. As always, our thanks and admiration goes out to the parents and volunteers who serve as Den, Pack and Troop Leaders for all of our Scouts throughout Bensalem.... Special Thanks go out to our friends at Daley's Service Center, who stepped up and saved the day by volunteering to host this year's Derby when the usual location was unavailable due to COVID restrictions. Local businesses like Daley's donate so much to our community groups and organizations. Please continue to support our local businesses, so many of which continue to struggle under the weight of Governor Wolf's Orders. Congratulations to todays winners! Cub Scout Pack 128, the Annual Pinewood Derby and Daley's Service Center. You All Make Us Bensalem Proud!

As Mayor DiGirolamo first announced to the public at a Bensalem Council Meeting in February, the Neshaminy Mall is now serving as a Bucks County COVID Vaccination Location. Since the time of that announcement, the Mayor has had Township Building and Fire Inspectors expedite permits and inspections at the Mall Location to help the County and Mall Management get the planned site up and running. Mayor DiGirolamo was on hand Saturday with County Commissioner Gene DiGirolamo for t...he opening of the Vaccination Clinic in the former H&M Store location (across from the Food Court). The Clinic began administering vaccines this week. Distribution of the COVID Vaccine remains under the control of State and County Government. The Neshaminy Mall Clinic and other County-run sites are vaccinating people who have signed up to receive a vaccine through the County's Coronavirus Vaccine Information page: Bucks County Coronavirus Vaccine Information https://covid19-vaccine-bucksgis.hub.arcgis.com/ or at the Bucks County Web Page: www.buckscounty.org

For so many of us, the Wall of Freedom at the Neshaminy Mall is a fond memory from our childhood. The 7 dioramas, built into the wall of what was then the Strawbridge & Clothier Store, depicted various moments from the American Revolution. Placards along the rail beneath each scene described the event being depicted, and if you pressed the adjacent button, the scene would "come to life" (at least to us kids) with light and sound. Generations of families have enjoyed the dio...ramas since the opening of the Mall in 1968. So when Mayor DiGirolamo learned that the new owner of the former Macy's store intended to remove the dioramas from the vacant store, he immediately contacted Sally Sondesky of the Bensalem Historical Society to discuss plans to save and preserve this piece of Bensalem History. Yesterday, the Mayor and Sally were on hand as employees of the Bensalem Public Works Department removed the first 4 of the dioramas. The Township intends to place the diorama depicting the Signing of the Declaration of Independence in the Township Municipal Building. The others will be stored by the Township while the Administration and the Historical Society make arrangements for their display and preservation. Thank You to our Mayor, the members of our Historical Society, and the employees of our Public Works Department for all of their efforts to save and preserve this unique piece of the history of our community. You Make Us All Bensalem Proud!
