Bridgeville Area Historical Society

Excited to announce that John Oyler's local history column "Water Under the Bridge" will be published every week on Bridgeville.org. Here's his most recent entry, which details how a 200-year-old barn was moved from Westmoreland County to Collier Township.

Today, my staff attended the Bridgeville Area Historical Society's 10th anniversary open house. The event runs daily through Saturday, March 20, from noon to 3 p.m. Pictured is Larry Godwin. He gave an informative tour of the acquired and preserved artifacts.

While I’m in Harrisburg for session today, two of my staff members had the pleasure of visiting the Bridgeville Area Historical Society to celebrate their 10th ...anniversary. They received a wonderful tour from Mary, a volunteer and Bridgeville resident. Mary shared her personal history of life in Bridgeville, including her grandfather and father who were local coal miners. The Historical Society is home to many of her family’s memories and other artifacts that make up the town’s history. Thank you, Mary and happy anniversary to Bridgeville Area Historical Society!
