Brighton Twp. VFD 14.12.2020

The members of the Brighton Township Fire Department mourn the loss of long time Ladies Auxiliary Member, Nancy Ward. Nancy was a steadfast member of the Ladies Auxiliary and was ever present at Fire Department events throughout her many years of service. Nancy will be greatly missed by her family and friends as well as by all us here at the Fire Department. Please keep the Ward family in your thoughts and prayers during this trying time.

Brighton Twp. VFD 24.11.2020

Brady's Run Road is closed from Achortown Road to the entrance of the Brady's Run Recycling Center. The Ice Arena must be accessed from the Route 51 end of Brady's Run Road. The closure is expected to last until February.

Today several members spent the morning at Glick Fire Apparatus conducting final inspection on the new Rescue 63. Once adjustments are completed at Glick, the Rescue will be taken to Fire & Marine Inc. for equipment mounting. We hope to have the unit in service by mid November. This unit will replace our current 1991 Simon-Duplex/ Saulsbury Rescue.

This week is Fire Prevention Week and this year's theme is Serve up Fire Safety in the Kitchen. Remember to always practice safe cooking techniques. We have fire prevention week items for kids available for pickup at our station 3 on Grange Road. We also can provide free smoke or carbon monoxide detectors to residents of Brighton Township. The Members of the Brighton Township Fire Department mourn the loss of long time Ladies Auxiliary member Judy Hogue. Judy, wife of Life Member Charlie Hogue, was a steadfast volunteer who spent many hours at the social engaged in fundraising activities for the Fire Department. Judy will be truly missed by the community and all of us at the Fire Department. Please keep the Hogue family in your thoughts and prayers during this tough time.

No need for you to respond to the test. Alert Signal: A steady tone for three minutes. If the Alert Signal sounds, immediately tune your radio or TV to your Emergency Alert System station for information and instructions. Fire Signal: A 20 second steady alert tone, repeated as necessary. Th...e Fire Signal is used to alert firefighters. Brighton Twp. VFD 12.09.2020

Gypsy Glen Road is closed to through traffic. The closure is in the 2600 block. Anyone wanting to access Two Mile Run Park will need to do so from the Beaver end of Gypsy Glen Road. This closure will be in effect until at the latest September 13th.

Brighton Twp. VFD 02.09.2020

Early this morning Engine 632, Tanker and Tower 63 responded to assist Industry Fire Department along with Midland, Vanport and Bridgewater Fire Departments and West Mayfield FD Rehab for a structure fire on Midland-Beaver Road in Industry. Crews found heavy fire conditions in an abandoned building upon arrival. Crews operated on scene for approximately 4 hours before returning to service.

Sebring Road is closed from the area of Fletcher Road to Route 68 in Vanport Township. This closure will be for several months to repair slide damage to the roadway.

The National Weather Service has confirmed that what we experienced last night was an EF2 tornado and that the area around Tusca Plaza suffered the most severe damage of the tornado track.

Please use caution when traveling in the Township tonight and into tomorrow. There is a significant amount of storm damage around the area. Tuscarawas Road from Little Beaver Drive to Timothy Trail will be closed for an extended amount of time due to 5 telephone poles down and an active natural gas leak in the area. People's Gas is on scene and Duquense Light has crews in the area. Brady's Run Road is also closed from Park Road to Route 51. There are several trees and w...ires down and Duquense Light does not have an estimated time for repairs. Many other roadways are reduced to one lane and will be cleared as soon as it is safe to do so.

The members of the Brighton Township Fire Department mourn along with the family of former Firefighter Robert C. Boyde Sr. Mr Boyde along with his family served the citizens of Brighton Township for many years. Mr Boyde will be missed by all who knew him and his family will be in our thoughts and prayers. RIP Mr Boyde.

The members of the Brighton Township Fire Department are saddened to hear of the passing of Mr. Reed. Mr. Reed served as solicitor for Brighton Township for over 50 years and was always a friend to the Fire Department. Mr. Reed will be missed by all who knew him. RIP.
