PSA: Delaware County Conducting Drive-Thru COVID-19 Testing Next Week in Darby and Upland Delaware County will again be conducting public drive-thru COVID-19 testing at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital in Darby and at the US Army Reserve in Upland. Testing will be held from Monday, December 14, through Friday, December 18, at both locations. Testing will be available for insured and uninsured individuals 12 years of age or older who live or work in Delaware County and have COVID-19 ...symptoms, were exposed to COVID-19, or are considered critical/essential workers. Individuals must pre-register at www.delcopa.gov/testing to receive a test. If you have health insurance, please bring your insurance card to the test site. However, there are no out-of-pocket costs or co-pays for COVID-19 testing. Masks or face coverings must be worn. COVID-19 test results typically take between 4-7 days. Additional testing information, including details regarding how to obtain faster results and the locations of additional public and private COVID-19 test sites, can be found on the link listed above. Please note: If you have a positive test result, you may be called by the Chester County Health department Disease Investigation team to complete an investigation. PSA: COVID-19 UPDATE: Brookhaven Borough Council and Mayor Leslie have made the decision to close the Municipal Center to all public activity, effective Monday, December 14th, 2020. We will spend the coming weekend developing a plan for permits and other services, which will be posted by Sunday evening. COVID-19 cases are surging county-wide, and Brookhaven is no different. Approximately 40% of Brookhaven’s total cases have come in the prior 30 days. Our fatality rate (Based ...ONLY on confirmed cases) is approximately 2%. We are sworn to protect or residents-particularly those most vulnerable to this virus-and have a duty to protect our employees. This decision will do both. Closure is indefinite, with no exceptions. The office will remain fully staffed, and communication via phone and email will remain open. PSA: Delaware County COVID TESTING Dec 10th - 14th Media PA PA Department of Health Holds COVID-19 Testing in Media Dec. 10-14 Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine announced that regional drive-thru and indoor walk-in testing clinics will be held in five counties throughout the state, including in Delaware County. Over the past several weeks, there has been a rapid increase of positive case counts reaching record-high levels throughout the state, causing significant concern.... Nearly all counties in the state now have a positivity-rate greater than five percent, which is alarming. Concerning counties, identified as those with percent positives above five percent, can be found on the Early Warning Monitoring Dashboard. Each county is being monitored as the state continues to examine all available data. A drive-through testing site will be held Thursday, Dec. 10 through Monday, Dec. 14 from 9:00a.m- 6:00p.m. at Delaware County Community College (901 South Media Line Rd., Media, PA.) Up to 450 patients can be tested per day. Mid-nasal passage swab PCR tests will be performed. Testing is on a first-come, first-serve basis and is free to all patients. Patients must be ages three and older and are not required to show symptoms of COVID-19 in order to be tested. No appointment is necessary. Patients are encouraged to bring a photo-ID or insurance card. Registration will be completed on-site. The turnaround time for testing results is two to seven days after testing. Those who have questions can call the Pennsylvania Health Hotline number 1-877-724-3258.
