Did you know today is National Dice Day? Dice Day reminded us of our very own Dr. Neil Simonetti. Students in Neil’s classes use his textbook, and enjoy the hands-on, application-rich approach that he takes to their learning of the material. His classroom is filled with eye-catching props like oversized dice and objects that students can manipulate with their hands in order to understand and demonstrate certain concepts. His former student and advisee Freya Kistner (BA ’18)... says, When I ask Dr. Simonetti a question, he never, ever ignores it. He is immediately ready with an answer from the weird bottomless-knowledge-well of his brain, or he knows how to find it, and he gives the whole thing (plus sometimes more).
