Buffalo Street Lanes 11.11.2020

League bowlers, please be aware that we’ve had to turn our heat off. Our pre winter maintenance call discovered major issues and we are in the process of getting quotes and getting a new HVAC system. We are still open but bring a sweatshirt! 2020, the year that keeps on giving...

BSL will be opening for Cosmic bowling starting in November. There are CHANGES to help make it safer for all involved. MUST make reservations. We will only be allowing 4 out of our 8 lanes to be utilized so bowlers can better social distance. MASKS are required when moving around the facility. Please be respectful or you will be asked to leave. Yes you have a right not to wear one but we have the right to ask you to leave. ... House balls are to be LEFT ON THE RETURN so we can clean them. If you try a ball and decide it's not the lucky one, please also pull it from the rack so we can clean it. Shoes will be cleaned after every use as usual :) COSMIC TIMES will NOW be Friday from 9:30-11:30pm and Saturday 7:00-9:00pm and 9:30-11:30pm. This allows our staff enough time to properly wipe everything down before new bowlers arrive. We also will be scheduling partial and private rentals. There are some changes as far as the numbers allowed. Again, we ask that you have your guests wear masks. There is to be no running around or horseplay. People need to stay at their lanes and tables to best socially distance. We love what we do but we love you all more and are doing our best to make decisions that keep you and our community safe. Bowling is not a necessity but we also understand sitting at home 24/7 isn't great for everyone's mental health either. Please lets all be kind to one another. If you're ready to come see us, great! If you don't feel ready yet, we totally understand. Please also be aware that this business is mostly run by one man. If he gets sick, we WILL have to close. Thank you for helping me protect him.

FYI Candy bar prices are wayyyy up. We are NOT raising our prices but our selection is going to be different from norm as we are ok breaking even but can’t take a loss just so we have your favorite snack. Remember you’re always welcome to bring in your own snacks and beverages!! Thanks for understanding. Strange times.

New table tops and 15 extra maroon chairs to go with our newly level floor. Thank you to the Jesse L. Peter’s Trust and Joyce and Mike Hughes for giving us freedom to still utilize their grant money when we had to cancel our Bike to Bowl Program for this year.

We do not run a youth league due to our size and the fact that this awesome Junior Bowling League is just 15 minutes away. Encourage your kids to bowl. Lots of scholarship money in bowling!!!

Ryan is reaching out to league secretaries to talk about the game plan for the fall. Please let your secretary know if you will be back or not for the '20-'21 bowling season. (We do plan to offer a dedicated bowl out time each week) No decision has been made in regards to our high school (6th-12th grade) bowling league as of yet. Will let you know when we do. Once we have our leagues set up and running smoothly, we plan to see how school opening pans out this September. If V...enango County's numbers don't spike, we will consider some public bowling times but it would only be four lanes at a time leaving an empty lane between for social distancing. We CAN do party rentals but insist that you keep it to 24 people or less at this time per the indoor gathering rule. (Our employee would be #25) We care about our bowlers and our community; we want to do everything we can to keep everyone safe, even if it seems overkill (better safe than sorry). We aren't looking to debate or argue with anyone. Bad PR or a nasty FB post can ruin a small business and we don't want to upset people but please understand that if Ryan gets sick, we WILL be closed. Wearing a mask protects others and we require masks to be worn at Buffalo Street Lanes unless you are sitting and not moving around. If you forget yours, we will have disposable ones at the desk. Please also social distance when you can (hard in a small space, we know) and DO NOT come if you are feeling sick or know you've been in contact with someone who has COVID 19 (or any other contagious ailment for that matter). We are providing hand sanitizer and are cleaning A LOT! When done bowling, we ask that you leave any house balls on the ball return. If you try a house ball and it doesn't work for you, leave it on the ground, do not put it back on the rack so we know it has been touched and needs cleaned again. As usual, we will be spraying the heck out of those stinky rental shoes. It's a strange time we are living in. Please be kind to one another. Jess & Ryan Rudegeair

Just a reminder, we are closed to the public currently. Being a small center makes social distancing difficult and many bowlers also snack and drink which is hard to do when wearing a mask. We appreciate your understanding of our difficult decision. We are hopeful that in the fall we can be open in at least a limited capacity but seeing as summer is typically our slow time anyway, this is what we felt is the healthiest decision for our family and our employees’ families. Please be kind to one another, The Rudegeairs

New floor project is about 95% complete! So much more space. We are still closed to the public but hope everyone is staying safe and healthy.

With the money that has been donated via other routes other than Facebook, we have surpassed our $8,000 goal! Still 5 more days to donate! All money is going ou...t to our local City of Franklin businesses to help with COVID-19 losses. Every little bit counts. Please remember to shop/takeout/curbside from our local friends and neighbors to show your LOVE. Can't wait to get started on the mural! We've decided to paint our HEART OF FRANKLIN just around the corner of the building past the bowling alley entrance. Any suggestions on what our hastag should be???? See more
