Carmichaels Borough

Effective March 1, 2021, Carmichaels Borough has suspended the use of its local police department and has engaged the police services of Cumberland Township on a 24/7 basis. This action taken by the Borough was the result of a theft by a previous Secretary/Treasurer who also failed to pay the payroll taxes of the Borough a number of years ago. It will take some time for the Borough to pay back these payroll taxes to the IRS, however, the Borough intends to emerge from this ...unfortunate debacle. Contrary to rumors, the Borough is not going to dissolve itself. The Borough intends to continue to correct any past mistakes that may arise and continue to provide the appropriate services to its residents. Carmichaels Borough Office will be closed Friday, January 1, 2021.

Carmichaels Borough will be closed Friday, December 25, 2020, and, Friday, January 1, 2021, for the holidays. Regular hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday, so open December 23, 28, 30, 2020.

Carmichaels Borough roads have been plowed early this morning by Jim Petron, Borough Maintenance! Thanks for getting town opened up Jim! Residents should still be careful parking and getting out of their cars to the sidewalks! Some areas could be slippery!

Great work by all agencies involved!! Through all of the agencies working together, the suspect was apprehended and the victim received life saving medical attention within just minutes of the initial call. (This statement by Greene County Sheriff's Office)

Please note: The Chamber of Commerce sponsors the Halloween and Christmas/light up night festivities and informed the Borough they would not be holding the events this year.

Carmichaels Borough would like to thank Carmichaels-Cumberland Fire Dept. and all those who participated for arranging the 911 Remembrance 2020!

We cannot have a program or event as in the past, but Carmichaels remembers! Carmichaels-Cumberland Twp. Fire Dept., along with Nemacolin and Crucible Fire Depts. will each have one truck in a separate corner of the square, along with a police cruiser from the other municipalities.... Due to the COVID-19, there will be no closing of roads or blocking traffic. At 8:46 the fire whistle will blow 10 times and a wreath will be placed in the center mound of the square! Taps will be played. Next year we are planning on our usual program event!

UPDATE REGARDING THE 9/11 SERVICE: The service for September 11 that typically takes place in the Carmichaels Square will be modified this year due to COVID-19.... Fire trucks, a police car, and an ambulance will be parked in each corner of the town square. At 8:46 AM, the main Fire Company siren will complete a full cycle in remembrance and honor of all those that lost their lives as a result of the attacks in New York City, Washington DC, and Pennsylvania on September 11, 2001. West Greene Street from Baily Avenue to Randolph Street will be closed until the conclusion of... tonight's high school football game to allow fans and family to enjoy the game outside the stadium, thus preventing any violation of the cap of persons allowed in the stadium at one time. Carmichaels Borough speed limit is 25 MPH!! Many are ignoring and our police force does ticket for all violations to the vehicle code. Please be careful and follow this speed limit. We certainly do not want any vehicle accidents or injuries of pedestrians. Thank you!

Last of the super load transports (#19) from Edwards Moving & Rigging! A great team to work with! I was lucky enough to catch the last 3 transports on the Mighty Monongahela River when they were transporting to Jessop! ... Today this generator went through Carmichaels to its final destination!
