Excuses seem to be as old as man himself. In Luke 14:16-24 Jesus tells about those who were invited to the Master's Banquet. Then in v.18 it says that when they received their invitation "they all alike began to make excuses" of why they couldn't attend. Again in Luke 9:57-62 we read about some others who made excuses when it came to following Jesus. Those verses also contain a warning about making excuses in our relationship with the Lord. I encourage you to take some time a...nd read those passages. The song "Excuses" is and old one but it still applies today. Times change but excuses never seem to. Pastor Gary
