After several meetings since we postponed the event until August, we have determined that the likely good of actually being able to host the event is extremely small. With cases rising in Allegheny County and across the region, there is no indication from our state leaders that the current restrictions in place will be removed anytime in the near future. Because of the restrictions currently in place, we can not host an event with over 250 people (including our workers). ... We were extremely hopeful that we could have pulled the event off, however we must make decisions that we feel are best for our community and our workers. Since our Sportsman’s Bash committee will be raffling off their prizes for their event originally scheduled in March on July 11th, we have decided that the 11th would be a convenient date to award our prizes also since all the equipment will be out and set up. We will be streaming this event live on both this page and through Zoom. Zoom information will be released shortly. The Purse Bash raffle will be taking place at 2:30pm. In addition to the prizes on the ticket being raffled off, we are also going to award additional prize baskets to all ticket holders. These baskets were originally to be for our Chinese Basket raffle however we decided to add them to this raffle as a reward to our customers, since we can’t host the event and to ensure we give away all of the merchandise that was graciously donated to us for the event. Please understand that this is not the outcome we were hoping for as we know everyone enjoys their day out with their friends and us but this is what needed to be done to ensure everyone’s safety. We hope we can return to normal soon and that the 2021 Purse Bash can occur like it always has.

After much discussion, the decision has been made to yet again postpone the 2020 Purse Bash until August. The new and final date is going to be August 30, 2020. Many factors went into the decision to postpone. 1) The poll results from you our customers 2) The fact that most of our suppliers just opened within the past week after long shutdowns and we would be unable to obtain all of the needed prizes in time... 3). A state mandate limiting events like ours to less than 250 people. Please know, If the event is still unable to occur in August, we will Live Stream the raffle and award prizes that way. We certainly hope that it doesn’t come to that but if we are still unable to meet State or safety requirements by that time, we have no other options available. The safety of our patrons and our members continues to be our top priority. We would like to thank everyone who participated in the recent poll and look remain hopeful that we will see everyone, in person, in August. We thank you for your continued support and understanding during these difficult and troubling times.

Summer is almost here! We have now begun selling our annual Car Raffle tickets outside the firehouse. The stand is not always manned but if you notice one of ...the big Open banners flying, pull in and get a ticket or two. Tickets are $2.00. Grand prize is either a new car, valued up to $30,000, or $21,000 cash. Second prize is $7,000. Since our business office is currently closed to the public we are also offering ticket purchases by mail. If you are unable to stop at the firehouse for tickets, please mail your check or money order to the address below and we will mail you your tickets back. Mail orders must be postmarked by July 29th to ensure we have enough time to process and return your order. Orders postmarked after the cutoff date will be processed if time allows, otherwise they will be treated as a donation. Mailing address... Resident tickets can be dropped off at the firehouse anytime, in the bright yellow mailbox, or contact us to have a member pick your tickets up. Contact info is attached to the ticket envelope. We still haven’t made a determination on Carnival itself yet. We are closely monitoring the Covid-19 situation and working with local and state officials to ensure we are making decisions based on the safety of our members and the community. We hope to make a final decision within the next few weeks. The Car Raffle will occur and be awarded on the date noted on the tickets regardless of our carnival decision. Volunteer postcards will be mailed out in a few days. If you recieve one, please contact us as soon as possible so we can begin making our volunteer list of individuals working carnival if we have one. We will contact you shortly. Finally, your support is needed now more than ever. Over the past 2 and half months we have had to cancel or postpone all of our fundraisers thus eliminating all of our income. Please support us in our time of need so we can continue offering our community the best service available in their time of need. We hope to see everyone soon, either on the highway buying tickets or on the grounds during carnival.

In addition to the poll we are currently running to help determine the future of this years purse bash, we wanted to give the opportunity to those customers who are not on Facebook to also participate.
