One of several views we have by Seymour Remenick (1923-1999) of Philadelphia, this one an oil on panel of a view of Manayunk with Holy Family Roman Catholic Church in around 1960. Come visit us to see many other works by Remenick, as well as many other American and European artists. Hello all, I hope this finds you all well. The Little Gallery has moved a few yards, just across the street to 8622 Germantown Ave., next to Chestnut Hill Coffee. I'm happy to say we have also reopened the actual Gallery (as opposed to the virtual). Please come visit us and see all the new art we've been accumulating in the past couple of months. This month we'll also be continuing to feature the work of Seymour Remenick (1923-1999) who taught at PAFA from 1977 until 1996. ... We're open 11-5 every day except Mondays, but we're also happy to meet you at other times if that might be more convenient to you. Best regards, and I look forward to seeing you again, Andrew

Miodrag Voji was born in Serbia in 1923. His studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade were interrupted by the war in 1944, but upon demobilization in 1946 he continued post-graduate studies. He left Yugoslavia for the South of France around 1949. Perhaps this report from the Ministry of Education in Belgrade sheds some light on his decision to leave Yugoslavia: Miodrag Voji, has not shown any progress in painting and has no prospect of improvement. In the National Y...outh, nothing works, on the contrary, his destructive attitude hinders the efforts of the Council and the National Youth on the path of proper development. Politically insecure. (Translation from the Serbian courtesy of Google) He settled in Cannes where he was also known as Michel Vojic and Vojic Milo. He founded the Association of Contemporary Artists of Cannes and the Cote d’Azur. He exhibited with, and was friends with, Hans Hartung, Arman, Cesar, Henri Goetz, Edouard Pignon, and many other artists. He died in 2004. We have several works by him available. Joie de Vivre Watercolor and ink, oval, matted to 16 x 20, 1957. $575

The Little Gallery is going to be featuring the art of Seymour Remenick (1923-1999) in February. He was a much-loved Philadelphia artist who taught at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts (PAFA) from 1977 until 1996. We'll exhibit a number of oils, watercolors and drawings of still lifes, nudes and landscapes, both large and small. Seymour Remenick's work is in many collections, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Philadelphia Museum of Art, Woodmere Art Museum, The Smithsonian American Art Museum as well as PAFA.
