Murph Challenge 2020 in the books!!!

We will be participating in the Murph Challenge again this year on May 25th. at the bike trail on Rt. 322 Franklin. Officers will be at the bike trail at various times during the day. This is a great charity in honor of Lt. Michael Murphy, a Navy Seal, who was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for his actions in Afghanistan. The challenge is a one mile run, followed by 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 squats and then another one mile run. This is done while wearing a 20lb vest. Weighted vest is not required. Just do what you can do. Everyone is welcome to participate with us. I would suggest that you register and donate to the charity. If you're going to go through this much discomfort and pain, you should at least have the shirt to show for it.

We’re looking for some help in locating a hit and run vehicle from December 12th. around 1:00 am. The crash happened in the 1200 block of Buffalo St. This is a photo of the victim’s vehicle so we’re expecting substantial damage to the suspect vehicle. The suspect vehicle is possibly a light colored Hyundai Sonata.

Applefest road closures. Saturday Morning @ 0845 Hrs. (For 5K Race) Elk Street from 13th Street to 8th Street will be opened up to two-way traffic. SR 322 East and West and SR 8 and 62 North and South (300 Block of Liberty Street through the 1200 Block of Liberty Street at 13th Street) will be detoured on Elk Street. Detours from normal traffic routes will be at 13th Street, Washington Crossing, and at 8th Street. Cross traffic at 3rd and Liberty will be permitted via Traffi...c Control Officer. Following the 5k Race on Saturday: Liberty Street will continue to be closed from 13th Street to 11th Street, including all side streets intersecting with the 1100 and 1200 Blocks of Liberty Street until the close of the Applefest Event which is typically around 6:00 pm. Also closed will be the 300 and 400 Block of 12th Street (12th Street Island). Sunday Morning @ 6:30 am. (Car Show) Liberty Street will be closed from 13th Street to 11th Street, including all side streets intersecting with the 1100 and 1200 Blocks of Liberty Street until the close of the Applefest Event which is typically around 6:00 pm. Also closed will be the 300 and 400 Blocks of 12th Street (12th Street Island).
