This is normally the time of year when baseball thoughts orient toward the upcoming All-Star Game. Not so much this year.

Cookie Rojas is one of a handful of Major Leaguer players who played every position in his career, including pitcher. Of that group, he is the only one to make both the American and National League All-Star teams. Rojas has worked in the Major Leagues as a player, coach, manager and broadcaster for more than five decades. He remains beloved in Philadelphia.

Many of us remember being there on Oct. 1, 1970. This is an eerie representation of what it was like in the stands in the aftermath of that 2-1 win over the Montreal Expos after Oscar Gamble grabbed that clutch hit in the bottom of the 10th inning.
