Burd Coleman residents: The highway department will be removing snow tomorrow starting around 9 a.m. Please try to move your cars to help facilitate the removal. They won't be knocking on any doors.

Minersvillage residents: The highway department will start removing snow this morning around 9. Moving your cars would be a benefit to both them and you. They have a lot to do over the next few days, especially with the threat of another round this weekend, so they won't be knocking on any doors this time around.

As the snow starts to fall I wanted to reshare these reminders from the last snow storm. Please take heed, especially number 1. It is much appreciated when you help out the highway crew as much as possible. We also had a few instances of people not following number 4. PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS! It can cause dangerous conditions. (1) If you are able, please park off the roadway. Obviously, there are parts of the borough where this is not possible. However, if you have a driveway,... it would be a great help if you could park there. (2) Please remove any basketball nets from alongside the road and in cul-de-sacs. (3) Take note of any fire hydrants near you and consider digging them out for the benefit of your neighborhood. (4) Please do not throw snow back in the street. Undoubtedly there will be a few people who clear their driveway, only to find the plow go by five minutes later and close them up again. We've all been there, including me. You can either say a few curse words under your breath and start shoveling again, or you can just wait until everything is over to do those last few feet. Just don't throw the snow back on the street. The office staff will likely be working remotely tomorrow. If you call and nobody answers, the best way to reach us would be to email me at [email protected]. I check my inbox frequently, but if you have an issue that you feel requires immediate attention, you can call the police station at 717-274-2071 and they can get in touch with the road crew. Planning and Zoning Commission meeting scheduled for tomorrow has been postponed until Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Please share this information with any friends or neighbors who you think might not see this post. Roads were already starting to get slick and the crew is out there. Stay home, stay warm and order the Royal Rumble tonight.

It's a trying time for volunteer organizations across the country, especially fire companies. The CFCC is in need of good men and women to join their ranks. If you've ever had an interest in joining, now is the time to do so. Many hands make light work!

There is a water main break on Rexmont Road between Dohner and Rex Street. The crew will be on scene to repair the leak. You may experience a loss of water pressure or cloudy water. If this occurs, open up the cold water spicket at the tub until the water runs clear. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience. Edit - Repair is complete. Please follow the above instructions if you have dirty or cloudy water. #seeya2020

The borough office will be closed this week for the holidays. Messages will be checked but the best way to get in touch with us would be to email me at [email protected]. If you need an immediate response, please contact the police department at 717-274-2071 and they will be able to relay the message.

The road crew will be cleaning out the snow in Burd Coleman tomorrow, starting around 9:30 a.m. Again, moving your vehicle would be a great help, especially if you want your area cleared.

The road crew will clearing snow in Minersvillage this morning. Please use caution as you drive through the area, especially with the fog. If you reside in the village, moving your vehicles off the street would be a help, particularly if you want your area cleared, but is not required.

With the impending snow storm, there are a few things you can do to help out our public works department. (1) If you are able, please park off the roadway. Obviously, there are parts of the borough where this is not possible. However, if you have a driveway, it would be a great help if you could park there. (2) Please remove any basketball nets from alongside the road and in cul-de-sacs. ... It's likely the office will close early tomorrow and possibly be closed Thursday (or operate with a delayed opening). If you call and nobody answers, the best way to reach us would be to email me at [email protected]. I check my inbox frequently, but if you have an issue that you feel requires immediate attention, you can call the police station at 717-274-2071 and they can get in touch with the road crew. Please share this information with any friends or neighbors who you think might not see this post. So kick back and relax. Finish that series you are binge watching on Netflix. Be safe when you go out to shovel. Drive carefully if you have to be out. Our crew, as they always do, will work as quickly and efficiently as they can to get the borough opened up.

You can view tonight's meeting at 6:30 p.m. at the following link: https://us04web.zoom.us/j/8140408646 It will be a rudimentary setup but I am hopeful it will get the job done for this month. Unfortunately, this is a free account so I am almost certain it will end after 40 minutes. I will restart the meeting and you'll have to join again using the same link. My apologies for the added hassle but we appreciate everyone being respectful of the current restrictions.

Keep an eye out for Santa making his way around the borough on Saturday and consider helping the Fire Company make this family's Christmas merry and bright this year!
