This young sewist loves to be comfy in a pair of leggings, don’t we all! So when it was time to pick his next project we decided to try leggings- this was his first adventure in sewing with knits. He did a super job! When we sewed a seam with too big a seam allowance he sat there and patiently and carefully picked out those stitches to not risk destroying the knit fabric. This #teensewist made a Fanny pack for her mom as a gift. Everything she makes she gifts and if was quite a labor of love. Lots of intricate details and challenges to sew the many layers together, plus to finish all the seams off with bias tape. This was a lot of work and it looks amazing! What a fantastic job! Just 3 spots left in the virtual Winter Quilt Along class with @southatlanticstitch starting Nov 18th. Class runs for six weeks, with a break over the holiday period (including over the week of Thanksgiving), and will include all sewing instructions and coloring sheets to help you plan your project! Completed quilt top will measure 60 square. This class is equal parts social sewing circle and guided class time! Sew at your own pace with friends, or use this project and ins...truction to fine-tune your piecing skills or both! Week-by-week, we’ll sew this quilt top together, and use the opportunity to learn about accurately piecing and designing medallion quilts (a quilt created in rounds, with a central motif) and Julie will be on hand to help you take the framework of this design and make it your own! Replace elements, change layout, experiment with color placement, or simply sew the pattern as is use this quilt-along in whatever way you want! This class would be a great follow-up to The Basic Quilt class, to expand on the skills learned in that class, or a wonderful next-step quilt project for anyone refreshing or expanding their piecing skills. Or just a cozy winter project to dig into! It’s also a great chance to do something with a long distance sewing friend or family member through the winter and virtually take a class together!
