As most of the country's real estate increased nicely in the 4th Qtr, of 2019, we are off to a questionable start to 2020. If we can pull through this, I believe the market will still ready to take off again.

Having attended the Reassessment Review at the County Council in Media this week, I can tell you that many folks walked away dissatisfied. Not that the reassessment process won't be fair but that they will not know the effects of the reassessment until Dec/Jan when the authorities adjust the millage rates to offset the increase in total county assessed values. So, if my assessment goes from $250,000 to $400,000, I can bet that my taxes are going to go up. I just won't know by how much until the millage rate is adjusted. However, I cannot wait until Dec/Jan to dispute my reassessed value. I have 10 days from when I receive the notice to schedule a meeting with the company that completed the reassessment. To Schedule an Informal Review within the 10 days call: Tyler Tech @ (888) 773-7056 or online at www.TylerTech.com/Delco

My New Year's resolution is to better educate clients on the Real Estate Market and things going on behind the scenes that may effect them. This is one of those examples. Zillow doesn't make their money working with buyers. They make money from advertisers and Realtors buying leads. Their info doesn't need to be right. It just needs to continue to bring people back to their page. My suggestion? Use my website. Www.forsaleindelawarecounty.com. You can view properties throughout NJ, PA, DE to Maryland, its more accurate and FREE. Full disclosure - I don't make anything from it unless you decide took work with me (which I highly recommend). However, even if you don't work with me, you are welcome to utilize it.
