As this years first winter storm approaches we would like to remind everyone to keep the safety of first responders in mind by asking yourself these questions... Have you cleared your sidewalk, steps and/or entryway to the home? Have you put down rocksalt/ice melt?... Is your house number still visible? In emergency situations these small steps can help keep you, your loved ones and providers safe. All equipment used in the emergency setting is functional in the snow and ice but these extra saftey steps can save time and ensure the well being of everyone involved in the emergency. With large snowfall, plow trucks may have covered your mailbox and number identifier with snow from the roads, thus preventing emergency vehicles from quickly identifying the correct location. Help us, help you this winter season. Stay safe and stay warm!

Thank you does not even begin to cover how grateful we are for everyone who attended our Winter Wonderland event last night. The outpouring of support from our community and surround areas never fails to baffle us. We are humbled to announce that with the help of YOU.... -We have collected HUNDREDS of toys for the Toys for Tots Campaign, along with a heafty monitary donation. ... -The 300 gift bags we assembled disappeared quickly due to the sheer volume of individuals who attended. We want to remind you that we are an all volunteer based department, meaning each and every member has a seperate life, family, and commitment to attend to outside the walls of our station. Without their continued determination, passion and selflessness they give to this department we would not be as successful as we are today. From everyone at DTVFD, we wish you a safe and happy holiday season and cannot wait to bring you a bigger, better and more spectacular display in 2021!

If you are this individual, we’d like to chat. Stay vigilant this holiday season folks, there is always a Grinch.

Our drive thru trick or treat event is just 6 days away!! DTVFD members will be handing out candy, glow sticks, smiles and lots of laughs! Our fire apparatus will be on site for picture taking and learning opportunities! CDC guidelines will be enforced if exiting your vehicles! Hope to see you there!

Our Halloween event is quickly approaching! Are you and your family attending?

We are sorry to announce that DTVFD will NOT be holding a Trunk or Treat event this year due to COVID-19. We just simply could not find a way to hold the event while maintaining the safety of all of our residents and our crews due to a foreseeably large turn out. That being said... Our annual Trick or Treating event at the Dorrance Township Municipal Building WILL GO ON as scheduled. DTVFD crews will be out with lots of candy, glow sticks and apparatus on Halloween Night fr...om 5pm-8pm. This event will be a drive-through. Crews will meet you at your car with Halloween goodies! We ask that you and your family adhere to the CDC recommendation of 6 feet social distanced minimums as well as facial coverings if you are exiting your vehicle to look at the apparatus that will be on site. We are eager to continue this tradition with all of you!

Members of Dorrance joined Wright Twp, Slocum Twp, Dennison Twp, Pond hill, Fairview, and Hobbie fire depts for a burn class in WhiteHall today as part of Mutual Aid training. Everyone worked hard together and did an amazing job demonstrating teamwork!!

On this night...19 years ago, 246 people went to sleep in preparation for their morning flights. 2,606 people went to sleep in preparation for work in the mor...ning tomorrow. 343 firefighters went to sleep in preparation for their morning shift. 60 police officers went to sleep in preparation for morning patrol. 8 paramedics went to sleep in preparation for the morning shift of saving lives. None of them saw past 10:00 am Sept 11, 2001. In one single moment life may never be the same. As you live and enjoy the breaths you take today and tonight before you go to sleep in preparation for your life tomorrow, kiss the ones you love, snuggle a little tighter, and never take one second of your life for granted. Never forget.
