Mrs. Dr. Spurgeon T. Gotwalt, DDS May 18, 1923 - December 4, 2020 How do you pick a few sentences to describe and dedicate to someone who was larger than life, even until her last day... She has influenced the lives of many, whether you called her Mrs. Gotwalt, Marion, Mom or Grammy ( aka Poopsie). She was a strong woman with unwavering determination and independence. Someone who showed that a disability is something that you overcame and used to make you stronger. She always knew who you were, even if she couldn’t see you. She was a pillar to the community and dedicated herself to many volunteer organizations. She was, always and forever, an educator. Almost 70 years ago, she and my grandfather opened the doors to this practice in Akron. They established, together, the roots on which my father and I now stand and grow. There are really no words to describe how proud I am to be a part of a dream created so long ago and how proud I am of her and the woman that she was. Rest In Peace, Grammy.
