East Marlborough Township Historic Commission

Barclay Rubincam was a Chester County artist and a contemporary of Andrew Wyeth. He was also a good Friend of Charles Barnard, who was active in Marlborough Mee...ting and one of the few recorded ministers of Philadelphia Yearly Meeting. Charles commissioned Barclay to paint a picture of the Meeting House and this was the result.

One of East Marlborough’s great treasures is this Historic Resource, the Cox House. Currently mothballed and owned by Longwood Gardens. It’s future preservation and reuse is unknown.
