The Pittsburgh Local Task Force on the Right to Education, part of the state task force system, is a parent-majority organization that works collaboratively with administrators from the Pittsburgh Public Schools and with community agencies to improve, strengthen and expand educational services for students with disabilities in the Pittsburgh Public Schools. The Pittsburgh LTF also serves as a liaison and information resource for families. Greetings. At the Townhall this eveni...ng, the District shared the plans for the return to school. Some highlights include: Support Category 4- Returns April 6 Support Category 3- Returns April 26 Support Category 2 & 1- Returns May 3 Parents may also choose to keep their kids at home Students will return 2 days a week (Monday/Tuesday or Thursday/Friday.) Students will need to bring their device fully charged to school to use at school. Teachers will be teaching both the students in the classroom and students at home at the same time. Students who took a PAT bus will still take a PAT bus. Students on a yellow bus will be seated two to a seat. We would like to collect questions from parents of students with disabilities. We will forward the list to PPS, and make a list of Questions and Answers once we have received a response from the district. Please click HERE to reach the link for the survey. You may also email us with questions or concerns. Regards. When we talk about School Safety, we must find methods that don't sacrifice the Civil Rights of students who are criminalized in school and fed into the school-to-prison pipeline. Governor Wolf created a School Safety Task Force to recommend ways to improve school safety and security. Our legislators are introducing bills to "harden" our schools. What will this mean for students who are disproportionally impacted by school discipline practices? Watch our video to see our figh...t for education justice and solutions for safe and supportive schools. #CounselorsNotCops #SolutionsNotSuspensions #FailureToFreedom

Stand with us!!! @J4J_USA is demanding a Secretary of Education who will fight for public schools, not close schools and harm communities. This means authentic leaders of public education movements, not corporate interventionists from Democrats For Education Reform.
