CT INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW The Computed Tomography Internship Program is a six (6) month, hospital-based, certificate program offering comprehensive didactic & clin...ical education in Computed Tomography (CT). Successful completion qualifies graduates as educationally eligible to sit for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) advanced modality certification exam in CT pending ARRT review and approval. Applicants must be graduates or pending graduates from a JRCERT accredited program in Radiography and must successfully pass the ARRT primary certification exam in Radiography. The Program enrolls up to 5 students, seeking didactic and clinical preparation, for each cohort. The program can enroll up to 10 additional students each cohort seeking the didactic only component of the program. We are currently accepting applications for the next CT cohort, which will tentatively begin in early March. SCHEDULE Typically, the CT Internship Program is a full-time program, Monday through Friday, 8am to 4pm (unless on clinical evening shift). We realize there is a need for evening classes at this time. The next cohort, beginning in March will hold the didactic courses in the evening. The classes will be held on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. for the duration of the semesters. For those students applying for the clinical component, we will continue to offer the clinical rotations during the day. We do have a very limited number of evening rotations if needed.

We are currently accepting applications for the CT and MRI Internship programs. These programs are offered on a FT basis for those students who require both the didactic and clinical component. There is an option to apply for the didactic only component, for either program, which will require a commitment of one (1) day each week for the duration of the program to attend classes only. MRI courses are instructed on Mondays and CT courses instructed on Fridays. As you may be aw...are the ARRT registry eligibility requirements have changed. Effective January 1, 2016, eligibility requirements for ARRT certification in Computed Tomography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging now call for candidates to complete sixteen (16) hours of required structured education related to the content outlines for that exam. The application enrollment period is now open!! The next CT internship cohort will tentaively begin on March 6, 2017. The next MRI Internship cohort wil tentaively begin on April 24, 2017. If interested, please submit your applications as soon as possible. Please email [email protected] if you would like additional information.

I wanted to share some very exciting news with you....I am PROUD to announce the Program will be expanding to include internship programs for both CT and MRI. Einstein had made a commitment to promoting continuing education for radiologic technologists in the area. Many imaging programs have recently closed, leaving little option for those technologists who want to expand their training beyond radiography. At this time, these programs will be offered on a FT basis for those s...tudents who require both the didactic and clinical component. There is an option to apply for the didactic only component, for either program, which will require a commitment of one (1) day each week for the duration of the program to attend classes. As you may be aware the ARRT registry eligibility requirements have changed. Effective January 1, 2016, eligibility requirements for ARRT certification in Computed Tomography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging now call for candidates to complete sixteen (16) hours of required structured education related to the content outlines for that exam. I have attached an information booklet as well as application materials if you or anyone you know may be interested in applying. The application enrollment period is now open for the classes which will begin on July 1, 2016. In order to be considered for the classes beginning on July 1, 2016, completed application materials must be received in the office by May 27, 2016. Please email [email protected] if you would like additional information.

November 8-14 is National Radiologic Technology Week, celebrating the profession of National Radiologic Technologists and the leaders of the nation’s healthcare system. The birth of radiologic technology began on Nov. 8, 1895, when German physicist Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen discovered the x-ray which was hailed as a medical miracle. Just as the x-ray changed the landscape of medicine, R.T.'s are a growing force impacting the delivery of quality healthcare to millions across the globe. The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects a 21% increase in the number of jobs for radiologic technologists from 2012 to 2022, faster than the average for all occupations.
