On Palm Sunday, Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey. He came in peace, even though the Jews expected Him to come in war against the oppressive Roman rule. But what He came to do was so much greater. He sacrificed Himself so that we could live and reign with Him eternally! And we have the hope that one day He will return on a horse, to make war on evil and set all things right. Hosanna! This Sunday, we did something a little different. The book of Hebrews was originally written to be a sermon, and the author would have expected it to be read aloud to the congregation, so that’s what we did! Afterwards, Pastor Jason exhorted us to persevere in the faith and hold fast to the truth: that Jesus paid the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. Therefore, we can, with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need, (Heb. 4:16). Did you miss it? Jesus Christ has made a way for us to enter God’s presence by sacrificing Himself on the cross. Let us respond by praising God continually, sharing generously with others and honoring our church leaders. These are all ways we can worship our gracious Savior. ~Youth Sunday~ Our youth did an incredible job running the service! They sang and played instruments for worship, read Scripture, prayed, greeted the congregation at the door, and more. Youth leader and pastor, Tim Morrison, brought us a taste of what our youth are learning as they study Proverbs in Sunday School. He taught us how important it is to not just hear God’s Word but to really listen and respond to what it says, which will make us wise and bring glory to God. ...
