Calling all Campers! We invite you to join us Sunday, August 15- Friday, August 20 for the most magical time of the year...our annual Camp Achieve! Registration is NOW OPEN for applications for everyone's favorite week of the summer!... Last year, Camp Achieve looked a bit different as we had to make the difficult decision to shift to a virtual format. This year we are cautiously optimistic and hopeful that we will be able to get our camp community together in person in some capacity. We are working closely with Camp Green Lane and our Camp Medical Review Committee to plan and determine the exact format and details for this summer to ensure the safety, security, and inclusion of all who attend camp. We will be sending out surveys in the coming weeks as well to gather feedback and input from our Camp Community. The EFEPA is proud to announce our brand-new Transition Workshop Webinar Series launching this spring! Young Adults and their parents/caregivers are invited to register to join us for presentations and practices every Tuesday evening from April 13 - May 18! Navigating the transition from adolescence to adulthood can be confusing, stressful and uncomfortable for any child and family. This time of transition brings a lot of big, important changes and decisions, and it can be e...ven more complex for families simultaneously navigating an epilepsy diagnosis. The new Transition Workshop Series will address important topics to help successfully navigate the transition to adulthood for young adults living with epilepsy and their parents/guardians. The Six week Series is open to youth ages 12-19 and their families. Every Tuesday we will have guest speakers covering transition topics related to medical/healthcare, Employment, Higher Education, Independence, and Self-Care. Throughout this past week our teen representatives and their families participated in EFA’s Teens Speak Up! Program and met virtually with lawmakers and their staff to share their experiences of living with epilepsy and to discuss the importance of funding for the CDC Epilepsy Program and breaking down barriers to safe and legal access to medical cannabis and CBD. We would like to thank our PA Teen Rep. Ben Manicke and our NJ Teen Reps. Paul St. Pierre and Alyssa Cerchio and ...their families for all of their hard work and being amazing advocates for the epilepsy community!
