Thank you to local business ServPro for the donation of water for our members!
Thank you to all that drove through our Santa Claus parade today. It was different than what we have done every year for the last 60 or so years, but this is the year of Covid, and what isn’t different? This is what we considered to be the safest way to protect our members and in turn keep us protecting you. Also thank you for all that donated food for an area food pantry. Good bye 2020, bring on 2021! -FHFD
Sant’s here till 2 today. Come on down!!
SANTA PARADE: 12/19/20 Hello Friends and Neighbors. Due to current Covid 19 restrictions and safety concerns we are altering from the traditional Saturday morning drive-by to a parade for everyone’s safety. ... It will be a drive through event with Santa greeting and waving to the kids! Everyone will be requested to remain in their vehicles at all times. We will be handing out lollipops and collecting canned goods for the local food pantries as always. Please join us on the 19th! Any questions please contact Rich Dippolito at 267-716-7254.

Congrats to our newer member Kyle on passing Fire School and graduating to and interior firefighter. Pulling those red stripes off.
Last night at 21:43 crews were dispatched for an extrication at the intersection of RT 1 and 295 for a rollover with entrapment. It quickly became apparent that this was no ordinary rescue box. Not only was the victim considered family by responding units but the extrication was made more difficult by the all of the equipment inside the vehicle. A great job was done by all involved. THE OFFICERS AND MEMBERS OF FHFD PRAY FOR A SPEEDY RECOVERY FOR THE INVOLVED OFFICER.
Barely noticeable in the bottom of this photo is FDNY's Ladder 118 on their way to the Twin Towers. Every single man on that Truck died trying to rescue people... that day. They were literally heading towards their own deaths when this photo was taken. They knew this job was a big one. I believe they knew firefighters would die. Yet, they answered the call. If that isn't the definition of courage then I don't know what is. See more

Flashback to 2011 for one of our more interesting calls... no physical injuries but some pride was hurt that day. #FHFD #DIYRocketTrucks #NasaBudgetCuts
Tonight’s drill included a few of the new guys fresh from fire school climbing 107’ off the ground.
Due to the current situation facing our local businesses and our neighbors we have decided to cancel what would have been our 18th annual Golf Outing. This decision was not made lightly as the Golf outing is one of our biggest fund raising events every year. The officers and members of FHFD made the decision based on the effects Covid has had on our local businesses and neighbors. Asking for donations from our neighbors that are struggling to keep their own doors open does not feel morally right. We appreciate the continued support from our community and look forward to putting this behind us and moving on to better times. Stay safe and stay healthy. -FHFD #100PercentVolunteer #CovidSucks #WashYourHands
