Looking to supplement your current fitness routine or looking for a new challenge? Well, we can assist with that! Parks and Recreation is offering a Yoga By The Water program for an initial 6 week session starting in early May. Must be 18 years of age or older. Here are the particulars: Location: Falls Township Community Park (Peninsula area lakeside portion of the park- just across the bridge)... Dates: Mondays 5/3- 6/14 (No class on 5/31 Memorial Day) Time: 7-8 pm Cost: $48 Resident; $54 Nonresident; $10.00 Drop In Fee ***We will need a minimum of (8) registered participants for the program to occur.*** Registration for this program can be done online. Use an existing Community Pass account or to create one, visit www.fallstwp.com, go to the Parks and Recreation Page, and click on the link to Capturepoint. From there, you can create your account (please choose to opt out of information coming from other municipalities stated on that page). Once your account is created, go to the dropbox and choose 2021 Spring/Summer Programs and then register yourself and make your payment by credit/debit card (VISA/MasterCard only). Have a child who likes to be outdoors and may be looking for a different, unique activity to try? Well, we have just the opportunity for you! Parks and Recreation is excited to be partnering up with the Shooting Star Archery Academy (www.shootingstararcheryacademy.com) to offer an Exploring Archery program for the youth in our area. This is an introductory program targeted for ages 6-17. The curriculum is setup to allow participants to develop at their own pace and acquire ...skills in a SAFE and FUN environment. All instructors are certified and have all the required background checks. All equipment will be provided. Here are the dates of the program: Dates: Tuesdays 5/4/2021 - 6/8/2021 (6 weeks) Time: 5:00 pm- 5:45 pm Location: Quaker Penn Park (300 Pennsbury Road. Morrisville, PA. 19067- next to Pennsbury Manor) Ages: 6-17 (participants will be separated into 2 separate age groups. One group will be for 6-12 year olds. The second group will be for 13-17 year olds) Cost: $135.00 for a Falls Resident; $150.00 for a Nonresident ** There needs to be a minimum of (12) participants registered for the program to occur.** To register, use your existing Community Pass account, or to setup an account, visit www.fallstwp.com, go to the Parks and Recreation page and click on the link Capturepoint. Setup your account and then you will be able to register for the program by going to the dropbox and selecting 2021 Spring/Summer Programs. You will then select the individual you are looking to sign up and will see the option for the Exploring Archery program. You will click on that and then be directed to make your payment by credit/ debit card (VISA and MasterCard only). You will then be all signed up. The repairs to the Skate Park at Falls Township Community Park have been completed and the area is now open for public use. Thank you for your patience.

Parks and Recreation would like to thank everyone who submitted photos for the 2020 Fall Photo Contest. We saw some amazing photos and it was difficult choosing the winners in each category. Parks and Recreation is looking to hire several certified lifeguards and gate attendants for the upcoming 2021 Pinewood Pool season. Lifeguards must be at least 15 years of age and have a current Lifeguard/CPR/AED certification. We offer competitive pay, flexible scheduling, and a great work atmosphere. The following amenities at the Falls Township Community Park will be closed for New Year’s Day: Skate Park, Dog Park, and Hockey Rink. These amenities will reopen on Saturday 1/2/2021. Have a safe and Happy New Year!!

The Skate Park at the Falls Township Community Park will be closed temporarily for an emergency repair. Once the repair is completed, the area will be reopened for use. We apologize for the inconvenience.

NOTICE: Due to poor field conditions at the Falls Township Community Park(as a result of our recent storm), the Drive In Movies scheduled for today 12/26/2020 (Home Alone) and tomorrow 12/27/2020 (National Lampoons Christmas Vacation) have been CANCELED. The Park and Recreation Board meeting will take place this evening 1/5/2021 at 7:00 pm. The meeting will be held remotely through Zoom. Yesterday was the first day of our Youth Skateboard Instruction Program at the Falls Township Community Park. Fun time had by all!! Thank you to Skate The Foundry for bringing this awesome program to our park!!!

Parks and Recreation is excited to announce it is once again partnering up with the Mid Atlantic Group to offer some more Drive In Movies for the holidays!! Just an FYI. Representatives from the USDA will be visiting several of our parks over the next few days to mark trees for future treatment within our park system that have been affected by the Spotted Lanternfly.

It was a great day for our Halloween Party at the Community Park! Would like to thank Jungle Joe Wildlife Adventures for providing a great show, and our Park and Recreation Board and Park Security staff for their support and assistance as well. Finally, thank you to all that participated today. It was a lot of fun and we enjoyed seeing some awesome costumes!!!

For those of you who have registered for our Halloween event this upcoming Saturday, we are excited to announce a special program addition to the event!! Jungle Joe’s Wildlife Adventures will be bringing some of their exotic animals and offer the children a small educational session at the beginning of the event. The show will start at 1:00 pm sharp so please be there promptly if you wish to see and learn about the animals. Our scavenger hunt and parade will take place shortly thereafter. The brand new playground and swing set at Kirby Park are now open for use. Parks and Recreation wants to thank our awesome Public Works Department for all their hard work in getting this playground ready for our residents to use. Enjoy!!

The scarecrows are now up and can be seen today through Saturday October 31st at the Falls Township Community Park. We have some awesome entries in this year’s contest!! Scarecrows are placed just off the walking path on the peninsula (left hand side as you cross over the bridge from the soccer field area to the lake area). Come on down and check them out!!

Parks and Recreation is excited to announce that it is partnering up with Skate the Foundry to offer a 6 week Introduction to Skateboarding Program at the Falls Township Community Park Skatepark. Here are the particulars: Dates: Sundays 11/1/2020 - 12/6/2020 (Rain date is 12/13/2020)... Time: 8:00 am- 9:15 am Ages: 6-12 Cost: $162.00 for a Falls Resident; $175.00 for a Non-Resident ***Maximum number of participants is 12*** To register, please use an existing Community Pass account or to create an account visit www.fallstwp.com, go to the Parks and Recreation Page, and click on the link Capturepoint. From there enter all your pertinent information. You then will go to the dropbox and choose 2020 Fall Programs. Check off the child who you are registering, choose the Skateboard Instruction Program option and then submit your payment and you will be all set. If paying by credit/debit card, we only accept VISA and MASTERCARD. If you wish to pay by cash or check, please email [email protected] or call (215) 949-9000 ext. 220 and we can coordinate payment that way as well. COVID-19 protocols will be in place (please see the attached sheet). Additionally, parents/guardians will be required to sign a COVID-19 waiver with us as well (will send this waiver over after registration is complete). Parks and Recreation is excited to announce we are now accepting entries for the 2020 Fall Photo Contest. Here is how the contest works: 1. Starting today October 13th through Monday November 30th, you can start submitting your photos (electronic submissions ONLY), by going to www.fallstwp.com, going to the Parks and Recreation Page and clicking on the link Photo Contests. 2. From there, you will enter your contact information and choose from five (5) categories: Plants, W...ildlife, Landscape, Architecture, and Other. Then, you will be asked to upload your photo (images must be no larger than 8mb in size) and click submit. Your photo will then be entered into the contest. 3. You may submit as many photos as you wish but will only be eligible to receive a prize in one (1) category. 4. Only photos taken within the boundaries of Falls Township will be eligible for a prize. 5. The Park and Recreation Board will judge and choose the winning photos at its December 2020 meeting. From there, winners will be contacted and will be honored at a future Board of Supervisors meeting.
