Me & My Big Mouth The Power of Your Words Part1 Pastor Kevin Wells... Did you know that what we say can make or break a person? Words are very powerful! Pastor Kevin reminds us that what we say affects how others feel and think about us. Have you ever said something in a moment and wished you could retract it? We all have at one time or another. Truth # 1 Words are a gift of God. Pastor points out that man is above other creations for he speaks words. I don’t believe your pet has spoken to you today! (unless it’s a parrot that repeats your language) God gave us words to encourage one another. Truth # 2 Words can build up or tear down. In God’s Word, He tells us to encourage one another. God knows The problems that come to us in this world. This is why we all at times need an uplift. Kind words are positive in their effect. When we use negative words, we devalue others. Pastor Kevin said think about When Jesus came upon all walks of people, He never devalued a one. No matter what state he found them in, He spoke positive words over them to change their situation, to make a difference. Truth # 3 The quality of my life is determined by the quality of my words. What we say can affect another’s opinion of us. Our words affect the relationships we have or do not have. Ever heard the saying- You have to be a friend to have one? Your words come into play in having a friendship.
