First Baptist Church, Wellsboro, PA

Dear friends of Wendy Milne McCleary - A memorial service to the glory of God and in remembrance of her will be held on Saturday, May 15 @ 10am at First Baptist Church, 25 Central Ave, Wellsboro. To reduce crowding there will be no guest register or receiving time prior to the service. Since physical distancing will be difficult, those wishing to attend but who are uncomfortable being present in the sanctuary will be able to view the service remotely in the Fellowship Hall OR it can be seen live streamed on our Facebook page (First Baptist Church, Wellsboro, PA). Fellowship Hall will also serve as overflow seating, if necessary. With COVID concerns in mind and in accordance with current PA state orders, masks will be required. Thank you.

Mark writes, words cannot adequately express my appreciation for Rev. Drew Simcox, the Associate Pastor at FBC Wellsboro. (The picture of Pastor Drew and his ...family I captured from his Facebook page) pastor Drew did an outstanding job coordinating morning worship while Pastor Jeff is away on bereavement leave. Pastor Drew led the praise team who included two of his daughters. One of Pastor Drew’s daughters played the hammered dulcimer while another, despite being on crutches sang with the team. So grateful for Pastor Drew’s servant heart and leadership at the church. Thank you Pastor Drew for being such a great partner in ministry. See more

Mark writes, following Sunday School at FBC Wellsboro, I joined the congregation for morning worship. It was a joy seeing so many people who have returned to t...he sanctuary in the midst of the pandemic. Dr. Ardell Thomas, a lifelong friend, and a former ABCOPAD Regional Board President served as the worship leader. It was a joy hearing the church choir and WOW can this congregation sing. The room was filled with songs of praise throughout the service but especially so for the closing hymn, Blessed Assurance. It was such an honor to deliver the morning message. FBC Wellsboro is blessed with many capable preachers/ speakers who are always ready to fill the pulpit. The church family gave their Lead Pastor, Rev. Jeff McCleary several weeks of bereavement leave as he grieves the passing of his wife Wendy. Both Frank Frischkorn and I were invited to be pulpit supplies during Pastor Jeff’s time away. Soooo grateful for these partners in ministry who are taking care of their pastor as he goes through this time of grief and mourning.
