Mrs. Emma Gearhart and Mrs. Clara Long of Muhlenburg - 1924 Clara Brandon Long was the wife of Dr. Charles Long, well known and respected physician for many years in the Muhlenburg/Hunlock Creek/Shickshinny area. Dr. Long passed away in 1921, so this most likely explains Clara wearing all black in mourning. ... If you look very closely, you can see the Long homestead and Wandel’s general store in the background. Both buildings still stand at Muhlenburg Corners.
